Atlanta or Nashville FFS. We've got a 650 million dollar TV network, let's put it somewhere people may actually go and that has sufficient business importance to support and promote it
I'm not sure I follow you, the SEC network is based out of Charlotte,NC. The SEC offices may move to Charlotte if the conference expands again.

That would be the ultimate troll job. Announce the office will move. Tour Memphis, New Orleans, Atlanta, and DFW. All along knowing its going to Montgomery. I would have to laugh

El Paso, TX.
1. It's far from SEC alumni and schools who try to influence the offices in their favor.
2. It's technically still in SEC territory.
3. Cheap hookers and blow just across the river in Juarez. Hotlanta ain't got shite on Juarez.

Atlanta or Memphis
Everybody that has posted either of these cities is fricking stupid. Memphis is the shittiest large city in the SEC footprint, if not all of the US, and none of the SEC execs want to go to Atlanta.
Nashville is the only legitimate answer.

Memphis or Nashville
I would even take Little Rock or Jackson
Anything to get the Alabama and Auburn alumni from staffing the office

there is not a nickel's worth of difference between Bham & ATL
Alabama is a huge wasteland, Atlanta is nowhere near anything like anywhere in Alabama.
Atlanta has 4, maybe 5 million people (that big 6 million number goes all the way to the AL, TN & SC borders for metro Atlanta.
Bham is a large city with very dangerous areas (primarily assisted living areas where lower income blacks are) - just like Atlanta
Bham has amazingly wealthy suburbs - just like Atlanta.
Had Delta come to Bham, then Atlanta would be the city with 1 million & Bham would be the huge metropolis.
A decaying inner city run by blacks and a wealthy surrounding area that is mostly white, complete with separate governments.
Atlanta and Birmingham are so similar that it is almost scary.
Birmingham is EXACTLY like Atlanta was roughly 25 - 35 years ago. It is the same city as the Atlanta I grew up in.
And the SEC offices being here do not help to give Bama a competitive advantage in the SEC.

Haleyville, AL. The geographical center of the SEC.
And Meth capital of the South.
I work trade shows and festivals as my "Dave Ramsey get out of debt" job & have done the 911 Festival the last 2 years. The local cops told me to NOT stay in the local hotel, so I stayed at the Best Western in Russelville.
My wife, who is a school teacher, works with a lady from Haleyville...

Birmingham is not Atlanta and its not even close.
State of GA is 10 mil
Atlanta (metro)is 5.5 mil
Alabama is 4.6 mil
Birmingham (metro) is 1.1 mil
Georgia excluding Metro Atlanta is 4.5 mil
Birmingham is more Augusta ( 750,000 ) than it is Atlanta.
Delta, as with any major corporation helps with population growth, Coke, Home Depot, on and on and on.
The fact is Atlanta was made the capitol of GA because of the Rail hub being " Centrally located between ( Chatt, Birm., Mont, Savannah, Augusta) with direct line access to the port in Savannah.
The fact I always wondered is how Big of City would Savannah be if the capital had located there at the Port?
But Birmingham = Atlanta .. not even close!

Houston, TX -- "Best City in America"
I like Houston a lot, I do. Been going there since the sixties. I stayed in the old Astrovillage the second week it was open. Saw Earl Campbell play in the AstroDome more than a few times. Used to go there even in the bad days during the recession in the 80s.
I really like Houston.
But Houston will never be the home of the SEC.
I seriously doubt the SEC will ever leave B-Ham. I'm not even sure we should want it to honestly, although Atlanta or Charlotte would be better places obviously ... especially Charlotte if we were to expand again and with the ESPN Studios right there.
B-Ham just makes it too attractive for the SEC offices to stay there. Free office space, arse kissing, etc.

SEC offices should not be in ACC country. This place sucks.
Baton Rouge is the place to move it as LSU has the biggest issue with its location.

There's the problem. Atlanta is now nothing like the city you grew up in 25-35 years ago, it has changed a lot for the better.

I don't think they were really making that argument - rather that Birmingham is a smaller version of Atlanta.
I've lived in both as well, and I can say that your experiences in either city will vary drastically (like most major cities) on which suburb you live in. In the ATL area I lived in Norcross (horrible - hated it) and Newnan (loved it). In the Birmingham area I lived near Green Springs Hwy (awful) and off of 280 in Mountain Brook (aside from the traffic, awesome).
ATL has at least one benefit - it's divisions are much more easily described to outsiders, thanks to the Perimeter.
Savannah - beautiful place to visit, absolute craphole to live in (my wife lived there for years).
Personally, I grew up in Shelby County (Alabaster to be specific) and I loved that portion of the state.
I would say, though, that considering that the SECCG is already always in Atlanta - probably not there. I think that the baseball tournament should be in Montgomery ( Riverwalk Stadium) or Nashville ( Herschel Greer Stadium), and while the Met is nice, those stadiums are probably nicer. I know that Greer is more iconic.
Considering we're basically talking about the corporate offices of the SEC (as opposed to a fan-based event), I've thought about it a bit and honestly I can't think of a better place than Houston.
