Jesus Christ he hasn't even been named a starter yet.
Why would he be such a great catch when Saban missed so badly on his other QBs?
I'm not saying he's a flop either, but why would he, of all the highly recruited QBs Saban brought into Alabama, be allowed to throw for 3000 yards and rush for 1000?
IF he starts he will likely be like every other QB you've had the past 6 years.

Hard to really complain about Bama's rushing attack. The fatasses are usually in the top 2 or 3 in rushing offense in the league.

That is why Drake will not start. Ingram and Richardson were slow to the LOS, that is why they are having a hard time in the NFL. Right now Drake is not patient enough to wait for a hole to open.

A formality at this point.

Auburn didn't really have much for QBs until Cam came along. Jus saying

1. He's that gifted.
2. He's a transfer. Not some fresh faced recruit.
3. He almost beat out the heisman trophy winner last year.
4. Saban trusts Jimbo's judgement. After all Jimbo got Jameis.

He'll start. You'd have to be an absolute fool to think he doesn't at this point.

Also, I'm an FSU fan. I joined this site because Coker transferred to Bama and I've been a big fan of his since I first met him in workouts. For that reason, this site is now relevant to my interests. My dad may be a Bama grad, but I have two degrees from FSU and used to be on staff.

You can think what you want but when it boils down to it, I'm all about the Garnet & Gold

All this frothing at the mouth about Coker for Heisman. The Aubs are about to stroke out. Over something I NEVER SAID.

Let's set the record straight. The jury is out on Coker we will have to wait and see. The jury is out on Williams we will have to wait and see. The jury is out on Fournette we will have to wait and see.

It is that second sentence that they don't like. Let me make them happy. Coker bad. Duke GOOD. LF best ever.

Is that better? Hypocrites.

Wrong, our co-offensive coordinator got Jameis.
You are right, Auburn has never had a decent QB. It's not like we had a 1st round pick in 2005 and our current QB is a hell of a lot more likely to win a Heisman than Coker.
If Coker was such a prospect, why was he only. 3*? Hell, Keihl Frazier was more highly rated than him and you can see how that turned out. Is it because he will have such an experienced QB coach in Kiffen to guide him?
You must be too young to remember the QB prodigies Jimbo developed when he was at Auburn. Ben Leard, Meiko Collier, Gabe Gross.

People bashing Coker when everyone knows he doesn't even really have to do much to make their offense click, and that they've been pretty successful with unproven commodities in the past winning a NC both times they broke in a new starting QB.

The difference is they weren't only completing 50% of their passes and throwing more INTs than TDs. If your QB isn't on the money more times than not then you aren't going to get those 3rd & longs most of the time. Let him start turning the Ball over, something AJ and GM didn't do much, and you end up in tighter games and teams playing harder longer. Accuracy is the most important skill with a game manager QB. Look at what Bama's offense looked like against VT and you will see what it will looks like without good QB play. Your OLine isn't good enough to just run at will every play.

quote:

Yeah, with over 700 of those yards coming against terrible teams like Wash St, W Carolina, Florida Atlantic and Arkansas St

Every bit of Coker's numbers were in garbage time and against bad teams and they still weren't impressive.

I find it ironic.. literally close to 100% of your posts are about Bama players (not just Coker) and to a lesser extent "cant wait for FSU vs Bama". The rest are about Michael Sam.. I think the truth here is that you're a displaced homosexual Bama fan and Coker made you tingle where it felt good while you were a GA at FSU.

That or a shitty alter. Haven't made up my mind.

Your level of over-concern is flattering and frightening at the same damn time. Why do you love me so much?

Is this the same co-offensive coordinator that was telling your defensive coordinator all of our plays? Funny how we start blocking our calls with towels and suddenly your defense isn't as effective lol

2005???

That's 6 years of nothing lol. And your QB may be more heavily favored, but in the past 5 years when has being "heavily favored" in the preseason helped anyone win a heisman? K thanks.

lol why is it so hard to grasp?

3* when he ran a wing-T offense. Now he's been developed into a legitimate pro-style QB that has the athleticism to extend plays with his legs. He's basically the best thing that could've happened to Bama considering their other QBs aren't ready.

quote:

You must be too young to remember the QB prodigies Jimbo developed when he was at Auburn. Ben Leard, Meiko Collier, Gabe Gross.

I literally have no idea who these guys are because I don't make it a point to be an authority on Auburn's history. I barely followed them before college outside of the Iron Bowl, and haven't really given a damn about them except for 2010 and this past season. The rest of the time you've been mediocre to terrible.

That being said, Jimbo's recent history of QB development has been better than most. After Jameis and Coker that could easily be 4 of his last QBs go 1st round lol

But fine, nobody gave a damn about Newton when he came to Auburn, and low and behold he lit it up. Coker doesn't have to be nearly the crutch that Newton was and here you all are acting like he isn't going to amount to much based on some spring ball and junk time with the 2s and 3s. lol ridiculous.

I talk about Coker and Henry. That's pretty much it. Maybe Cooper or Howard once in a while, but that's usually in reference to Coker. Not sure who else I'd be talking about because I'm not overly familiar with their roster.

But yes. I have a massive hard-on for Coker. His bangs are dreamy. Seeing as athletics is my profession, it has nothing to do with having immense respect for someone's ability or my love of the game itself.

Just my raging homosexuality.

What I've learned from the rant is that every Alabama player is overrated.

I've also learned that every Alabama player is overrated.....and one of the last things I read earlier is how every Alabama player is overrated.

Hey did you guys catch that movie about that overrated retard who owned a fishing boat?

Its the complete opposite of Bama's board where they are all the GOAT.

But honestly Coker just hasn't proven, at all, he is worthy of the hype. That is not an outrageous statement.

but LSU's super freshman RB is totally proven and deserves all the hype right? I mean he was running all over HS kids last year.....THAT'S GOTTA MEAN SOMETHING RIGHT?

I know of two unproven Alabama players who have actually played snaps at the collegiate level but you know...THEY PLAY FOR ALABAMA AND ALL so they must have playstation stats before they're any good.

I doubt it will matter one bit how good Coker is until mid season. If he starts and his jersey stays clean then he will have a chance to put up good numbers. How good Alabama's season turns out to be will be determined by how well the O-line comes together.
