What did their offensive lines look like?

Coker has all the tools and ability to get the job done, so the question is, how good is the offensive line going to be.

Keep in mind though, Coker is a more natural athlete than both McElroy and McCarron and is a bigger threat should he take off and run than either of them. Will be interesting to see how defenses react to his ability to take off when given the opportunity.

It won't matter if Saban tells him to not take off unless he is under pressure. He may extent some plays if the OLine doesn't hold up.

That's what I was getting at. His athleticism adds something to their offense that the past two QBs were unable to do.

If DrewD knows what the hell he's talking about, why does he feel the need to blog anonymously? The opinions on that site are about as valid as my grandmother's. And she's been dead 15 years.

Sure...Doesn't mean he's our best RB.

All we have heard this off season was Tre Mason won't be missed because of Grant's high YPC...

And all we've heard is Mason was just product of the system but now the system can't work without him. No one excepted anything out of Tre last year and we did fine. This year will be no different.

Are you high? Everyone had Tre in their top 5 running backs returning last season.

Some experts might have because he was a returning starter but not on here. All we heard was he wasn't going to do anything because Gus's offense wasn't going to work. Some even thought CAP was going to start over him.

As if that's unrealistic. This time last year who would've actually thought Jameis was going to win? Or Johnny the year before that? Or RG3 the year before that? I think Jameis becomes the second player ever to win the heisman twice, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Coker there in New York

Obviously you don't understand the type of QBs they were and the system they played in. The only way Coker sniffs heisman, is if he throws for 4000 yards and 35+ TDs and goes undefeated. He doesn't have the legs or system to be in consideration. Last year with McCarron even being up there was a joke and the whole nation knew it.

I wouldn't consider McCarron a "game manager" when he threw for over 3000 yards and 28 TDs with an excellent 9.1 ypa, but in no way was he a serious heisman contender, and having him in NY was laughable.

Really? Didn't he finish 2nd in the voting?...that's "laughable"?....and you know more than the Heisman voters?...now that's laughable.

but LSU's super freshman RB is totally proven and deserves all the hype right? I mean he was running all over HS kids last year.....THAT'S GOTTA MEAN SOMETHING RIGHT?

I know of two unproven Alabama players who have actually played snaps at the collegiate level but you know...THEY PLAY FOR ALABAMA AND ALL so they must have playstation stats before they're any good.

And that is why you don't get it. Nobody is talking heisman for Fournette, and nobody is putting him in top 5 list when he hasn't even done anything yet.

A 5 star #1 overall RB freshman being touted as the #10 conference RB is way different than a 3 star QB, who couldn't cut it at another school for three years, being touted as not only the 5th best QB (a position that is way harder to play) in the conference, but as a heisman contender. Tell me what he has that would make him a legit contender? What have you seen to warrant that?

Media is only saying Fournette is 10th at best RB in the conference, a position that's only real challenge is blitz pick up. Even the few more homer LSU fans like me, think he could play as good as Hill did his freshman year, but contribute a lot more than the 8 games Hill played in. I'll shout 1000 yards rushing til your ears bleed because he is set up to do just that.

Best online in Miles tenure, check
Inexperienced and young QB, check
Inexperienced WRs with few catches (8 total), check
Only one true threat ahead of him that has been a 3 year career backup, check
A head coach that would run the ball every play in a drive than spans 70+ yards, check

Sure it's homer, sure it's unrealistic to most, but it is a lot more likely go happen, than Coker being a heisman contender.

Tre will be missed a lot. I hope Nick Marshall can carry the load more.

Have you ever heard of Cam Artis-Payne, Peyton Barber, Racean Thomas, or Corey Grant?

What about Ben Tate, Michael Dyer, Kenny Irons, Carnell Williams, Ronnie Brown, Stephen Davis or Rudi Johnson?

When has Auburn ever had trouble replacing a running back?

Take Tre's yardage away, and AU still had the 21st Rushing Offense in the Country.
