Jesus...LSU fans sure are on edge the edge of their seats today, watching their biggest rival play in the College World Series while their beloved Tigers didn't even make out of regional play.

He is a freshman lefty and you should have no problem getting to him. Don't let his stats fool you

Even with the way we have been swinging? We were supposed to have the top offense by a good margin in the CWS and have strung together, I think, 5 hits. We are batting like .100 as a team...andddd, only lost to UVA 2-1

The sad thing is nothing is going to change, at least as far as the fences at Omaha. With even the announcers making strong comments bout how the game was radically changed due to the size of the stadium & the constant winds blowing in, the NCAA will simply wait & see how the new balls affect the game. Both announcers are aware of the new ball & still made those comments. FWIW: both Skip and CPM have gone on record as saying they expect no significant change in the game because of the new ball. For any advantage added distance will bring to the offense, Skip said the new ball will make the pitchers that more effective as they will be able to grip it better; end result, no real change in offense numbers.

Great. Was really hoping it would help. The CWS is not nearly as entertaining to watch anymore.
A pitcher needs to fear the HR.

There have been plenty of ball that guys have stroked but for most of the games the wind has been blowing in from centerfield at about 20 miles an hour. If that keeps up there won't be a HR the whole CWS

I believe it was pointed out last year that the location and position of the new stadium is such that the prevailing winds are always blowing in from the outfield. Which is stupid...

Honestly if your team is not in Omaha, I don't know how you could possibly watch this. It's pretty dreadful.

I think you must has misunderstood them. Lowering the seams on the balls will not give the pitchers better grip. Quite the opposite. We will see less movement on pitches which should translate into a few more hits. But it's not going to really fix the power numbers and especially not in Omaha

aluminum bats = not baseball
Switching to wood would be nice, but apparently that's too expensive or something.
Wood bats would probably hit better than the current bats.
Maybe they can just switch to broom sticks and take down the fence completely.

The weakest team in the tourney won the title last year because of the park. Their strategy was to grove fastballs all day long because they knew 99.9% of the time they would end up being long fly outs, and they were right. That's not how baseball is meant to be played. I'm all for small ball in the right situations but pitchers should be punished for leaving the ball over the middle of the plate all night long.
This x eleventy billion. Watching UCLA throw fastball after fastball belt high and get rewarded for it was my final straw with this shite. I used to watch every game no matter if LSU was there or not. I have watched one game so far and I had to force myself to watch that one. The NCAA has taken all of the excitement away from a great college sport.

If this is also true for lollipop sliders then Sam Smith will throw a gem tomorrow.

Get Bianco on the horn. Just have your pitcher run it in belt high over the plate and put your fastest players in the outfield. It should work.

our OF is fast as hell to begin with.
Hell, maybe we should have kept Hawtin Buchannon and his mid-high 90's FB on roster.
