Actually not at all. He will be wasting one of AU's schollies next season, and figuring out how to keep content a guy that felt so entitled he couldn't handle being demoted for a Spring through an entire year without varsity football will be Auburn's problem now.
This guy, through his complete unreliability last year, was absolutely infuriating to follow. Now that he is apparently joining Auburn's squad, I am quite content for him to infuriate Auburn fans.

He will have to walk on and stay straight before he ever gets a scholarship spot. If he doesn't do what Gus says he will be gone way before ever going on scholarship.
As far as the UGA Prez at the NCAA, if Auburn has stayed out of trouble with Emmert there, he will be no problem. Auburn has ex-NCAA in their compliance department.

Momma Matthews or a student loan...how am I supposed to know. It's part of the price of fricking up

Well, at least you admit that he had a significant part to play in his current circumstances, which is more than I have seen from some of your brethren.

Sounds like AU is particularly complicit to me . I would watch out former Prez Adams. This could be the slow play the NCAA has been waiting for to regain relevance. Let's face it, on a national scene, AU is less than irrelevant.

If he comes to Auburn, he has a chance to get his head on straight. Different town, different atmosphere, closer to home, further from some people that weren't good for him to be around, new friends...just a fresh start overall. He's going to have to pay tuition for at least a year so I imagine his family will be keeping a closer eye on his actions. Plus he knows if he screws up once, his arse is gone. 3rd chances are few and far between, regardless of one's talent. So it's a low risk for Auburn & Gus.

I'm gonna go with stupid.
If Auburn is irrelevant after winning the SEC title twice in the past 4 years, what does that make UGA?

Well any updates and exactly how long is 24 hours in Alabama/Auburn time anyhow?
So much material in this pie in the sky piece...
Hey Nino why don't you tell us the real reason you keep your AU board closed and so secularized?
tAU board is the short-bus board in reality the Gus-bus is just the cover so the au-SPED members don't get their feelings hurt.

I haven't heard anyone say the guy is a golden child. In all honesty though, I think some of you guys aren't understanding that a kid can get in trouble and actually learn his lesson and decide to better themselves.
If AU "swept stuff under the rug" so much we would've kept Dyer and other players through the years. It's not extreme to believe some people learn from their mistakes.

Really? Did Cam newton and nick Marshall walk on?
Hey. I have no problem with Auburn giving players second chances. They have a very solid record of turning them around. The players seem to behave themselves once at Auburn and play very well. Auburn would be crazy NOT to take a flyer on Matthews if they want to. I'm another Georgia fan that hopes he goes somewhere and does well. I am all for people getting second chances and making the most of them.

Good ones? Players or people?
You can bet that if he isn't on good behavior he'll never see the field at AU. I see why dawg fans are so butthurt though, it pissed me off that Chizik couldn't handle his players as well. I don't see anything wrong with giving people 2nd chances. Maybe because I had one myself earlier in life and I 100% learned my lesson.

Yet another questionable character that Auburn takes under its wing. They dont care if they have murderers/thiefs on the team, as long as they win.
