Exactly what I was thinking. Trigga was double dipping at Georgia not Auburn. Lack of institutional control- dawgs gets penalties.

Because that's the only kind we take - good ones.

Yet another questionable character that Auburn takes under its wing. They dont care if they have murderers/thiefs on the team, as long as they win.

You better look in the mirror on that one bud. Remind me of who was recently allowed back on shorty's team?

When I see where Auburn has taken in Jerry Lee Dufus, Florida's 3rd string long snapper who was kicked off for being charged for petty larceny and assault, then I'll consider the noble, humanitarian aspect of it all.

Really? Did Cam newton and nick Marshall walk on?

They went to jr college and proved themselves there. IF Gus takes Tray, he can't play immediately anyway, so why waste a scholarship on him until he shows he has what it takes to straighten up and be part of the team. Is jr college an option for him? I haven't kept up with the details of this.

When shorty had the 4 thugs/thieves get in trouble, who did he let back on the team? The ho-hum ones? Nope. He let the best player back on the SAME team even after he had assaulted fellow students and stolen from them. The others? They were mediocre anyway, so they were processed. Now, who is is that takes only the good thugs?

1) Eddie Williams was the best player of the four.
2) Pettway spent a year at junior college before his return.
3) He was at Alabama to begin with, not retrieved from another team.
4) Alabama doesn't make this a practice and they aren't nationally known for cultivating these types of individuals for their athletic teams...but we know who is.

As I said...I have no problem with Auburn taking them. But don't say they have to walk on. Because the don't. When was the last time a questionable player got kicked off another team and he was forced to walk on at Auburn?

Once again...good for Auburn for giving second chances. It has paid off for Auburn, and has paid off for the players. Win/win.

Like I said, I don't know the particulars of this issue - IF Auburn takes him. But he can't come directly from UGA to AU, can he, and play the first year? If he goes to jr college and keeps his nose clean, then he would not have to walk on at AU if we still want him. I don't think we would take a chance on immediately giving him a scholarship with his current situation. Why shouldn't he have to work to prove himself before he gets another free ride?

You are correct. I believe he would have to sit out a year, per NCAA rules....NOT because Auburn is forcing them to walk on.

Hey. Like I said. Kudos for your record in turning players around. It has paid off for both.

My point is...you guys are claiming he would have to walk on. He would not, and as far as I know, no player has ever walked on at Auburn once they were kicked off another team. (Might have...I am just unaware of it) Y'all make it sound as if you are making a player prove himself. You are not. the NCAA rules make them sit out a year.....and they certainly are NOT walking on. Do you think Cam, Marshall or Trey Matthews would go to Auburn and play football if they did not have a scholarship? certainly not. They would go to another school.

Every single time an SEC players transfers to another SEC school. Cory Grant just transferred from bama. Nothing more, nothing less. He was not allowed on scholarship at Auburn for one year. Mike Blakely only went through one spring at UF, IIRC. He transferred to Auburn and couldn't be on scholarship for a year.

No. They did not walk on. they were ineligible to play. BIG difference. Walk on means they play without a scholarship. (More or less)

If you check the Bios on the Auburn web site it says they sat out the year to satisfy NCAA transfer rules....they did NOT walk on.

They were walk-ons. They were able to practice with the team, but are not allowed to be on scholarship. If you practice, you are a part of the team. If you are not on scholarship, you are a walk-on. You also lose a year of eligibility. Transferring to another SEC school, for whatever reason, means you can't be on scholarship the first year. He could get a scholarship immediately if he goes to any out of conference school.

This is the issue that sticks out. The players AU has given 2nd chances to DIDN'T get in trouble at AU.

Hell, even Gene Frickin Chizik kicked off the MVP of the BCSNCG. So basically we've conformed that AU doesn't keep trouble makers once they've went overboard at AU....
But we know who does...... Right?

Look for an announcement in the next 24 hours. Matthews will sit out the 2014 season and should have three years to play three.

This was posted back on the 11th by the Op and we still don't know how long 24 hrs is in Aubrun time...
