Spring games are pointless

The only thing that matters on the field are injuries. All stats, performances, and plays are irrelevant
I might just start telling people I didn't attend the spring game so I don't have to hear them ask "how'd we do" or "how did we look" or "what did you think"

You sound like a Clemson fan. Just whining like a bitch.

Spring games aren't pointless because "on the field injuries" are all that matter. Spring games are pointless because they're somehow interpreted by idiots as something other than a glorified fricking open practice.

I'm one of the bigger UGA fans I know, have lived in Athens for 8 yrs, and have never attended G Day. It's senseless.

You clearly don't deal with Clemson fans on a regular basis.
They make excuses. Its not really whining

This is my point. The only thing you can project from them is injuries.

This.
Only ever attended one A&M spring game, and that was just because I knew my little brother was supposed to get some field time.
Watched the one last year on ESPN because it was a novelty. Other than that, I really don't care.

Bro, I'm an Alabama fan. I'm all about some excuses.

I'm sure the players don't care about having people come out and support them so you're good from that standpoint.

Whether or not he wins the job Alabama's spring game will be huge for Blake Sims. I don't think spring games are pointless at all.

So you started a thread? Was turnout that bad?

This is true but, disney dawgs think Alabama cares so they mimic their care in mindless bliss.

Spring games are fun. I don't know about you but watching future players you've never seen on the field before is cool. Plus, any football is better than no football.

Spring games are to get your players, especially the younger players, on the field to see how they will react in a game situation. They are great teaching tools. Yes injuries happen. Injuries also happen in practice. Should we just do away with practice also?

Spring games are pretty much bread and butter stuff. Some programs have a ton of people that go since they have a passionate following to their school or certain programs in the school. Ohio State can have the number one ranked basketball team and they still wouldn't sell out all of their home games, but they still do for football no matter the team's record.
Some schools just have a stronger, more passionate following than other schools.
It is what it is.

Spring games are a nice excuse to get on campus, drink a beer and watch something associated loosely with football. God made the sun dress for a reason and I like seeing them in the spring!
Also a good chance for little money to take the little ones to a game like event so they can see what the deal is about.

I would imagine the coaching staff sees value in them. For the fans...not so much. I would love to see us scrimmage someone else in a night game. I know it will never happen but I think it would be cool.

They're pointless. I used to go to every one but stopped three years ago. It's your own offense against your own defense, so the defense knows all the plays because they go against them constantly, but they can't tackle the quarterback, which removes a large portion of the game itself. Often coaches don't even set them up as 1s vs 1s, but 1s vs 2s instead, which is even more absurd. It's like national party political conventions - senseless red meat for the hardcore fans. Spring games are like jerking off.

The players and fans enjoy them. It's almost 5 months until the start of the season, so I'm glad we get a football fix, albeit "pointless".
