i find all of this amazingly similar to todays politics.
back when hunh coaches were whining crying begging and pleading with the ncaa to CHANGE the way the refs handled the game. there wasn't any outcry. then, the ncaa DID CHANGE the way the refs handled the game. IN TOTAL FAVOR OF ONE TEAM OVER THE OTHER. IT DID AFFECT THE GAME. but now there are people speaking up against that change. and look at whats happening. the side that got the help wants to shut down the conversation. we got what we wanted now you just live with it. hmm....
basketball on grass or turf, just isnt appealing. personally i find myself watching that slow plodding big10 over the basketball on grass the big 12, 8 however many they have left. and when they force everybody to play this crap, i'll be thru with it. i love football, especially college football. i like college basketball. with the 2 becoming closer to the same game, whats the point. obviously, there are a lot of people that want the video football. and they are on their way to getting it. but at what cost. are there enough hunh fans to support all these programs. will the fans of real football support this video game version or will they fade away. leaving the schools trying to find new revenue. hmm........

Did they try to slip in a rule change in the wrong year and cry player safety to justify it?
Or are you going to ignore that part in your narrative of 'why is this any different adn they're picking on us' story?

quote:All the lies and bullshite about what happened is going to come back and bite y'all in the arse, because you've given him the ammunition he needs to light a fire under coaches and players for next year. This is what actually took place (or better yet didn't) regarding the entire thing...
Yes. Saban is just trolling... He's putting a lot of effort into this troll.
"Look, I had nothing to do with the 10-second rule. I was asked by the rules committee and the officials to come and speak to the rules committee relative to pace of play. Were there player safety issues involved in that and is there a game administrative problem with that? So I went and did that. I didn't vote on the committee. I didn't offer any solutions to the problems. I just gave my opinion, but presented a lot statistical data that would support the fact that pace of play is creating a lot longer games and a lot more plays in games."
Saban has been a lightning rod for criticism and opposition to the proposed rule. That's the advantage and sometimes disadvantage of the unofficial spokesman status Saban has earned around the college football landscape due to his unparalleled success in the sport over the past six years.
Yep.....y'all done gone and pissed the man off now, and as they say in Texas, when you frick with the bull, you get the horns!

Stop whining. Your team's defense gave up a whopping 13.9 points per game. You'd think the sky is falling by your post.

Isn't he the one behind all the lies and bull shite? The fact that you believe every word that comes out of his mouth is scary. Everyone has an agenda and he has made his cut and dry.
If Saban said all bama fans should stick their tounge in a light socket, y'all would do it.

You mean how Saban/Bert tried to circumvent the standard protocol of a rule change by flying the false flag of player safety?

Saban and Kiffin are like Jay and Silent Bob gathering lists of posters names to go door to door and kick them in the shins

According to the rules committee head, the HC from the Air Force Academy, the committee did not invite Saban. According to numerous statements he made to various news sources when this blew up, Saban asked to be allowed to come speak to the committee. So, either the HC from Air Force is lying or Nicky is.And how does Nicky know about this important rules change proposal and the OBC, Sumlin, etc have no idea about it at all?

Hell, hadn't thought about that. I know Saban asked for an invite which is his right, and he got one. But a lot coaches were surprised and didn't know that the rule was proposed yet Saban was there to speak on it.
hmmm....
=========================
The only thing I can think of is Bielima informed Saban beforehand but no one else...I guess that's it
