the IRL ones that I've talked to were actually vehement about it
They may be the most dedicated basketball fans, but for the most part, anyone that really keeps up with Alabama basketball does not want Gottfried back. No one is thrilled where our program is now either though.

Who is the Hot name being talked about to replace Grant?
Steve Proehm is a Bama guy and has Murray State on the verge of the Tourney again (leading their conference)

Without even looking at the schedule, I'm going to go out on a limb and say your last SEC win was against A&M.

No one since he'll more than likely be back next year.

I'm assuming you meant to say nobody?

A&M was next to last. We had a 2 game winning streak (sounds ridiculous I know), beat Auburn the next game.
I know Bundy, I know, here I go with my sunshine pumping.

I meant to say anyone that really keeps up with Alabama basketball does not want Gottfried back so I'll edit that.

We play good for a half like vs Georgia then lose by 20 at home in the second half.

I'm hoping they get rid of the basketball court and replace it with a swimming pool.
It's really not as great as you think it is.

God Damn you Bunty, you bring this shite to tRant to bring in every other dipshit on this board to support your worthless arse arguement, and you know they'll support it because they are anti-MSU or just want the lolz.
So congratulations on that. You get to let everyone say LULZ Trouble in Starkvegas. Damnit Bundy.
RICK RAY is 100000000x the Coach that Rick Stansbury ever was. How many times do we have to explain this to you? Ray gets last year, this year, and next year to turn this shitstorm of a basketball program around. You can throw out last year and this year, they are gone, we all know they've been gone.
What illustrious career are you referring to with Stansbury? Barely making it to the NCAA a few times with mediocre runs in the tournament!? GET THE frick OUT WITH THIS bullshite.

Stansbury's run from 2001-02 to 2004-05 was actually pretty good.

Yeah...a decade ago.
and it was plainly clear that he needed to go much earlier than he did.

He recruited IJ Ready, that should be a fireable offense.

I asked the same question to Bama fans and most would take Gottfried over Grant right now.
Not me. Gottfried was mailing it in, his teams were lazy, and the product was getting worse.
Grant experiment didn't work out, but there's no way Gottfried would have managed to attain even Grant's limited level of success.
From the looks of things, after his first year flash he's returned to his Bama ways at NC State. Dumped out of last year's tourney early and under .500 in the conference this season.
I'll take the coach that isn't getting it done but works hard and puts out a team that plays hard over one that's lazy any day.

3 seed and 2 seed won the SEC tourney in 2002 and SEC outright in 2005 but since Taxman don't know jack about Mississippi State basketball let him continue to make claims without facts and assume we "Barely" got into the NCAA Tourney
The 2002-2003 and the 2005-2006 teams were also pretty good as well.

IJ Ready is actually pretty good, hes just undersized...
