Been a rough year (actually rough last two years) for Mississippi State basketball. I have been a fan as long back as I can remember into the the 90's and have never seen us look as bad as we have looked the past 2 years.

This year is year 2 under Rick Ray and although scores may be somewhat closer but we are still losing and could likely finish the season on a 14 game SEC losing streak.

South Carolina and Bama have had terrible seasons but at least they had some good wins such as South Carolina beating Kentucky this past Saturday and Bama beating Mizzou Ole Miss and LSU.

The only top 100 RPI win we have is Ole Miss and they are 89 and dropping. Our RPI is an SEC worst 227 and we also have the worst strength of schedule as well.

7 of our 13 wins are against teams with an RPI of 250 or better and 5 wins are against RPI 300+

With that said, Im not sure if Mississippi State basketball will ever get back to the level it was between 1995- 2009

He is excited because he has been rooting for Rick Ray to fail the entire time.

Never mentioned his name in my entire post.

Also I gave us credit for beating OM but in all reality they aren't a very good team this year.

We also lost at home to a terrible TCU team who is 0-16 in the Big 12

Are you Happy and satisfied with how our basketball team has played this season?

We play good for a half like vs Georgia then lose by 20 at home in the second half. Lead A&M at Halftime lose by double figures in the 2nd half play Kentucky close for a half then get blown out in the 2nd half.

We lack shooters, ball handlers, athletic players who can finish at the rim, and bigs.

From last year to this year there hasn't been much improvement at all. JMO

I used to love Mississippi State basketball as much as anybody but the past 3 thats right THREE years have made me want to even watch us on TV anymore. I wish I could say things will get better but I just don't see it happening anytime soon

I'm always curious about firing remorse for schools. MSU fans, how much do you (if at all) wish you hadn't fired Stansbury? I asked the same question to Bama fans and most would take Gottfried over Grant right now.

This isn't me trying to pour salt in a wound. At the time I thought Nolan had to go, but considering our recruiting class had Nolan stayed, truths that came out about Broyles, and the decade of irrelevance that followed, that was the one I definitely regret the most. Petrino was different because we had no choice.

Well some of you sunshine pumpers on here, elite dawgs and 247 seem to not mind getting our brains beat in game after game against mediocre SEC teams (not named Kentucky and Florida)

Bundy...no one says they are happy about Ray's performance...they just want to give him a few years to see if he can do it. I don't even know why I am typing this to you, you are incapable of change.

I don't regret firing Stansbury one bit. It was almost worse to have enormous talent on the court and shite our pants than what we watch now. I didn't think Ray was the greatest hire at the time but we're stuck with him now for at LEAST one more year.

If you disagree with him about recruiting you are a pessimist and if you disagree with him about basketball you are a sunshine pumper.
