I'd say y'all will miss Clark but it seems you fukkers breed kickers and punters down there that do that shite every year.

Alabama will be OK regardless of what happens at quarterback, IMO.

not really, but we'll see next year if he can do what Mason did.

I'll hold off on predicting too much until I've seen the final recruiting classes, which ones are academic casualties, and how spring practices go. I do think the biggest loses (other than Mason, of course) are going to be rebuilding what was a very solid DL, and the Punter and Kicker. That makes it rough to gauge.

We'll be better on both sides, but I expect to lose 2 games. Just life in the SEC West, especially with big games on the road. Anywhere from 9-3 to 12-0 would be a reasonable prediction, although going 9-3 means Auburn probably blew one (very possible).
I could see some offensive production drop off, but I think that will be made up for in greater offensive diversity. Defense will be different, but overall will put up better numbers.
People talking about "figuring out" our offense are pretty stupid, IMO. What is there to figure out? Gus is going to design an offense around his most dynamic and productive players, and there are plenty of options within the HUNH to allow that. Now, if we try to replicate what we did this year, especially in the last several games, sure, you can plan for that and may have success shutting it down in individual games. But as long as Auburn has talented offensive players and Gus is in his right mind, I doubt we'll see any systemic failures. It's far less of a "system" than people make it out to be.

You were 6-1 in games decided by 7 points or less this season (6-0 before the BCSNCG). There's no way to keep that up, and teams will have an entire offseason to study the Gus Bus' tapes.
Thinking a 9-3 type of year is about what you're looking at.

I think 10-2
At Georgia is a rivalry game that this year auburn won't focus on as much as in years past. Being undefeated at that time will cause auburn to be cocky and allow an early 14 point deficit, which you already know doesn't usually turn out well for your style of offense TTs towel. Then traveling to bama for a likely winner take all matchup (as in the division) in which, as you probably know as do I, nick saban almost never loses because of it being a rematch. Trust me, tamu knows how hard it is to win at their place. Even with the best first quarter all season we barely held on. However, if you beat Georgia then I believe that should give you a high enough ranking to be #4 in the final rankings for playoffs (assuming you still lose to bama)

This is what I'm talking about. Auburn will probably lose 1-3 games next year, but I highly suspect they'll win more decisively too. We won some early close games because we weren't even in the same universe as we were to finish the year.
You can study the Gus tapes all you want, but if Auburn is even modestly better throwing the football next year, what good is it going to do?

I keep hearing this. Look at Gus' four years in the SEC. You have seen four different O's. Study away.

or probably just focus on the tapes with Nick Marshall at QB.

I'd be surprised if Gus goes with a very pass limited O in 2014. To me, that means either:
A) The offense is designed to allow better passing productivity through plays within Marshall's ability;
B) Marshall improves as a passer;
C) Johnson is the starter.
I think you'll see one of those happen, likely A or B, and thus it'll be pretty tough to "figure" anything out.

There is no guarantee Nick will be the starter next year. We had a true freshman QB this year who looked good.
Getting Holsey back, our best CB that missed most of the year, will be a big help also.

Gus is an offensive genius, so you can only study so much before it becomes a detriment to your gameplan when he throws out some new shite on you. My main point is this:
That's something that you don't normally see teams do. Hell, normally going 4-2 or so is a GREAT year in close games, but Auburn seemed to win every close game they were involved with. There's just absolutely no way to maintain that.

I think the run heavy offense was the whole key to their success this season. Opposing defenses will be thrilled if they go to a more pass happy offense.

its amazing to me that some Auburn fans still think J.Johnson should be the QB next year. just stick with McNarshall.

Agreed, but look at the Auburn that beat TAMU, MSU and Washington State vs. the Auburn that scraped by UGA and Alabama. Huge difference.
Yes, I agree that if we need the breaks to beat UA or UGA next year, it's quite possible we won't get them. But I don't anticipate needing last minute heroics to beat WSU, TAMU or MSU level teams next year.
I expect we'll lose 1-2 to UGA/Alabama/LSU with the potential to drop another.

I can agree with this, with OM probably being the "other." I think they'll cause a few headaches for teams next year.
