LSU schedule thread. Awesome.

You finish 10-2 though, so it's both 10 difficult and 2 easy.

4 toss ups...I'll say 10-2 without going into much thought.

That game on December 6th won't be happening, FWIW.

Wisconsin is meh, games 2-5 are a joke, Auburn will be a hard game, then the two weakest SECe teams from this year, Ole Miss will be slightly better than last year, Bama will be bama, Arky will be bad, A&M will drop off

so a pretty weak overall schedule IMO...below average at least

Aug. 30 vs. Wisconsin, Houston, Texas -Idk how good wisconsin will be
Sept. 6 Sam Houston State, Baton Rouge - shite
Sept. 13 Louisiana-Monroe, Baton Rouge -shite
Sept. 20 Mississippi State, Baton Rouge -above average
Sept. 27 New Mexico State, Baton Rouge -shite
Oct. 4 at Auburn, Auburn, Ala. -tough game
Oct. 11 at Florida, Gainesville, Fla. -above average, maybe
Oct. 18 Kentucky, Baton Rouge - shite
Oct. 25 Ole Miss, Baton Rouge - above average
Nov. 1 Open
Nov. 8 Alabama, Baton Rouge - tough game
Nov. 15 at Arkansas, Little Rock or Fayetteville, Ark. - shite
Nov. 22 Open
Nov. 27 at Texas A&M, College Station, Texas - above average

I see 2 legit tough games, some above average games, and some shite. Overall schedule rank: 7. The only reason I rate it that high is due to the strength of bama and auburn.

I will say a 6 the Wisconsin game is your only marquee game and it isn't all that impressive but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

The Senator at GTP did this yesterday, here are his '14 rankings with explanations...

quote:

LSU

Sites: 7 home, 4 road, 1 neutral

Cross-division games: Florida, Kentucky

Non-conference opponents: Wisconsin, Sam Houston State, ULM, New Mexico State

Hard to see what Les will complain about next year. Even the open dates, before Alabama and Texas A&M, are well-placed. Slightly lower grade than Alabama due to tougher non-conference opponent in Wisconsin. Favorability grade: A-.
quote:

ALABAMA

Sites: 7 home, 4 road, 1 neutral

Cross-division games: Florida, Tennessee

Non-conference opponents: West Virginia, FAU, S. Miss., W. Carolina

The combined 2013 record of Alabama’s non-conference opponents is 13-35. The cross-division games feature two programs that weren’t bowl eligible this season. There’s an open date before the road test at LSU. Nick Saban has time for this shite. Favorability grade: A.

Ranking... A=easy...F=Tough...

Vandy...A+
Bama ...A
MSU ....A
LSU ....A-
aTm ....B
Aub ....B
Mizzou..B
UGA ....B-
O.Miss..B-
ARK ....C
Kent....C
USCjr...C-
Tenn....C-
Fla ....D+

ULM isn't super good, but on the grand scale of rent a win teams, they rent as bad as some

Pre-decline LSU finishes this schedule with 1 loss. Current LSU will lose 3.

Solid 8/10 ... mainly because of the road games.

I say it's a 5, just because of the games against Auburn, Florida (down right now, but always has talent) and Bama. LSU's OOC schedule is a joke. The home slate next year is God aweful. Anything short of 9-3 is a disgrace.

2-0 vs the East. Of course, you still have Bama and A&M to contend with.
