little brother syndrome

When one person feels they have a rivalry with another far superior person. The superior person usually doesn't know about it or feel that the little brother is any kind of a threat

does not apply to Iron Bowl. Multiple bama coaches have been fired for having good seasons but losing to AU.

Some might even say aubie is proud to be Alabama's little bro and they take offense to the notion that LSU has unseated them as being bama's little bro.

I live in Austin and to be honest, for the past year or so the Longhorn fans are the ones who have been acting like they have little brother syndrome in the worst way. That's a fairly unprecedented role reversal, I grant, but its also very real. The Aggies are in the tu fans' domes and are discussed CONSTANTLY here on Austin sports radio, at tailgates and bars, by the water cooler, on shaggybevo, etc. Its really something to see.

Poor guy. When your bait doesn't pertain to your own school, it's probably time to hang it up .

This is what Arky amounts to now, trolling vicariously through Texas and Bama accomplishments.

Auburn is like the little brother from the slums who goes to law school and becomes a boring, respectable contributor to society.

Admittedly, Alabama is the dumb townie who nails the hot chicks and is a local God. Of course, he eventually ends up getting killed over some gambling debt.

i'm not denying that there may be auburn fans with "little brother" syndrome, but i sure don't know any of them. bama leads the series 42-34-1, but considering 47 of those games were at legion field (bama's home away from home), i'd say it's an impressive mark & hardly one-sided enough for any auburn fan to feel like a "little brother"...but again, i won't say they're not out there, but i just haven't met 'em. auburn is 7-4 at JHS, and 7-2 at BDS. again, no little brother syndrome here. since i've followed auburn ('86 season), auburn has a 15-12 mark....again, no little brother syndrome here.

i guess it depends when you started following the program....but from where i'm sitting, all i can say is "nice try" to the OP....

how can Alabama not view auburn as a threat when they have the best all time record against Alabama of all the sec teams? Not saying we are not inferior, but anybody else in college football would be their little brother too.

Using Bama to flame us because you have nothing at Arky.

Keep reaching.

ETA: Sorry you guys don't have and never will have a rival. Arky is just an after thought for the SEC. Just be happy we invited you.

Well, as a Bama fan, I would say Auburn has done all right.
They may be the minority in their state, but Auburn, for the
most part, goes stroke for stroke with Alabama. Auburn won a National Championship in the midst of their rivals greatest
run in decades, possibly ever. I hate lil bro Auburn, but give lil bro his due.

Your sail is struggling, since you can't include Arky anymore. Oh yeah, Frazier is still a better QB than Brandon Allen.

A&M is by far the worst because they came from being the worst in the country to Texas, and had to not only find a new one, but found two or three of them.

And this is their high water mark because of JFF. So get ready kids, it's gonna get a lot worse.

They are perennial third fighting over scraps with Ole Miss and Auburn from now on except in the occasional off year where one of them climbs out of the bottom.

TAM won't. Texas will get a new coach, crush them in recruiting yet again, and they'll find their level. Yet again.

Auburn is fully aware of their position. LSU is never without confidence they can upset Alabama's apple cart. TAM had one game where they got to get some sloppy seconds after LSU put the beating to that team but they somehow pulled it out.

That's their claim to fame.

TAM is THE little brother of the SEC.

Lets see who is the little brother.

Texas A&M. Endowment around 7 billion or so.
Donations this year $750 million
New stadium. $450 million seating 102,000
Largest student population. 55,000
Major research university
How many of you have a presidential library?
How many students attend games and stand and yell 30000 at A&M , more than most of you have total students.
Facilities- with new stadium, second to none
Recruiting- well, Texas nuff said

I could go on and on so let me finish by saying as a Bama and SEC fan, WE are allready A&M's little brother.

We have a long way off the field to catch up with them.

OP-the winner is Clemson, USCe's little brother.

BTW your SEC envy is showing.
