Or voters could simply put in a 1-loss team over them because A&M actually lost a game
The key will be if A&M would play in the SECCG. With JFF, voters will vote them in a heartbeat.

I'm not even totally sure why it would matter if he paid him back. I guess I could be missing something, but this is more about the coach and the institution than it is HaHa anyway.
That and there's no proof (at this point) that the coach was paid back.

You know it to be true.
A team that always does the right thing , compared to teams that lawyer up makes Alabama look like a parent who doesn't cover up their kids problems , thus the kid receives correction and he and his siblings learn life lessons VS. other parents ( AU , TAMU ) who cover up their kids problems , allow them to run wild and never get any life lessons because the parents bend over backwards to prorect their wayward kids.

this isn't getting money from some third party with no ties to the program... he received several hundred dollars from a coach. He knew the rules and violated them.... he's gotta go.
I agree, he needs to be kicked off, but I don't feel like he will be, at least not yet.

not unlike the Dareus situation a few years back
So Dareus's money came from a coach?

PREDICTION:
- Coach Harris fired
- HaHa suspended for October
- Bama doesn't get punished by NCAA
- Landon Collins is the backup for HaHa come November

Damn, Bama needs to clean the roaches out.
quote:Do you know anybody on this staff?
Im not sure there would be much left of the staff or fan base if this happened.
A. Most likely not...
So not sure how you can judge any of them..

What if the agent the coach is "linked" to gave the coach the money to "lend" to Haha?

that's what I'm saying... he knew it was wrong and willfully violated the rules.
No way this dude should ever see the field again.

As I said previously, I hope Dix is kicked off the team and the coach fired immediately.
At the same time, LOL at all the corn dogs and barners in this thread trying to convince themselves and each other they are NCAA experts or in any other way intimately familiar with the situation.

How does this happen?
They're people and people are stupid. I'm in the U.S. Navy. When I was at A School they preached to us not to get involved with underage drinking. We had this drilled into our heads almost daily. Yet sailors under 21 would go out and drink underage anyway, risking their careers in the process. A lot of them were caught and kicked out of school, sent to the fleet as an undesignated sailor.

He has already admitted he took impermissible benefits, it is now up to him to prove he paid him back. NCAA doesn't have to prove anything other than what the guy already admitted to. Paying it back doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Which means he didn't lie to the NCAA (see the Dez Bryant case).

The burden is on them to show a violation, not to show that the violation has been mitigated. That would be on the player/school.
I know you want this violation to result in the death penalty, but it's just not gonna happen.

think bama has a similar penalty?
It's tough to say. The NCAA accepted LSU's pre-emptive self imposed penalties. I guess it depends on what sacrifice to the gods Bama offers up.

No, he was on the team. Some wondered why he never played.
