t's piling up over there! Sounds like a good time for Saban to go to Texas !
More like just go up the lake and watch the ducks shite on the dock. If this gets much worse, I think he'll retire.

how can they prove he didn't pay him back
He has already admitted he took impermissible benefits, it is now up to him to prove he paid him back. NCAA doesn't have to prove anything other than what the guy already admitted to. Paying it back doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Which side do you think the burden of proof is on?
Burden of proof always on the NCAA. They may not have to have irrefutable evidence, but the burden is on them.

Project, how much did that WR coach LSU picked up from the west coast pay for Akiem Hicks rent? Is this similar to that?
didnt we self impose 2 scholly reduction for 2 years?

Same here, and with that said, I hope they give him his walking papers and make an example of him. This shite cannot be tolerated.

I'm guessing coach fired, HaHa suspended for 4 games as long as he pays the money to charity or something (he's complied so well with everything I'm sure they won't kick him off the team),nothing vacated, four out of five come January.

! Why should Bama expect any more?
So you expect the coach to be fired, player to be kicked off the team, scholarship loses and probation?
Posted on 10/3/13 at 3:28 pm to BamaELCo
Burden of proof is always on whoever makes the first claim. If the NCAA claimed he didn't pay it back, they have to prove that. If HaHa claimed he did first, then he has to prove that.

I honestly don't remember the amount, I'm thinking somewhere in the $800 range for some reason though.

Yes. And we never put him on the field.

Seriously?
The guy admitted he took money, and that is all the NCAA needs to make him ineligible and punish for if they want to. I doubt much comes from it, but the NCAA already has all they need in this case.

Marcell Dareus received benefits totaling $1787.17 He had a 2 game suspension, paid $1787.17 to a charity, played the rest of the year then got drafted in the 1st round the following spring. Click on the blue
Read the article you linked:
On his radio show, Saban said Dareus was "shanghaied a little into this ... by some other players."
"He did the right thing in every way," Saban said. "It's important that the NCAA make examples out of players who don't do the right thing. At the same time, he was very cooperative."
So was Haha shanghaied? (Does anyone at Bama even know what that means :) ) I didn't hear Nicky say he was. So I guess, per Nicky's own words, the NCAA needs to make an example out of him. Right?

this isn't getting money from some third party with no ties to the program... he received several hundred dollars from a coach. He knew the rules and violated them.... he's gotta go.

yea, he never played then we pulled the coach from the recruiting trail and let him go after the season.
that was the same time justin hunter and mike davis decommitted from us.
think bama has a similar penalty?

Pat Sullivan bailed Jeff Burger out of jail. Burger was suspended, but I believe the NCAA let him play after it was shown that he was paid back.

Here is my problem: Up to this point, we (Bama fans) have all been confident that Saban has an excellent program to educate these young men on the eligibility rules they have to live by. It seems to me that "you can't take out loans from staff members" would be right up there with the "don't let Boosters buy you Dodge Chargers".
