I'm not going to give the writers the satisfaction of actually reading the article. Does anyone have a timeline of all this?

There isn't really much we can do if they got paid as Jrs/Srs and now they are gone. I hope UA look at the evidence hard and if it is found to be credible wth Admins take down any singular photos of them and erase them from the university like USC was forced to do with Reggie Bush. This is about the only way you can even make a player think twice about this who is already considering their options of taking the money.
I post this about an hour ago in another thread. This is why I hate pinned threads, they get lost at the top of the board amongst all the usual pinned threads. Threads that move up and down are more visual IMHO.

The NCAA and NFL aren't to blame, the players are. It's personal responsibility, you can't break the rules, period. I won't bash them, but they're to blame.

Everybody needs to quit comparing this to Bush. USC was hit so hard because they had coaches involved. It sucks that Davis would do the to his fellow Bama family. Of course if what was said on the radio is true, then Davis may have just scammed the Agents and they are doing this to get at him irregardless of the collateral damage.

Former University of Alabama lineman D.J. Fluker has been interviewed by UA compliance officers and is cooperating with the school's investigation into allegations that he received improper benefits while playing for the Crimson Tide, The Tuscaloosa News has learned.
The Tuscaloosa News has also learned that Luther Davis, the former player cited in a Yahoo Sports report as the conduit for the money and benefits, has been informed that he is not welcome around the UA football facility and UA officials have warned him to stay away from players.
UA was already looking into the matter before the Yahoo Sports report was published Wednesday, and has worked with the Southeastern Conference in investigating the charges.
Fluker is named in the report along with former Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray, current Tennessee defensive lineman Maurice Couch and former Mississippi State players Fletcher Cox and Chad Bumphis as being players who received benefits through Davis.

From a credible person on a different site... (Paraphrased)
Fluker has been interviewed by UA compliance and is cooperating. He has been cooperating with UA compliance since before the article was published. The SEC and compliance department have been working together which is par for the course in these types of allegations. Those inside UA do not think there have been any institutional violations committed in this instance. The investigation is ongoing.
**so basically what Alahunter posted **

This is why I think we will be okay. Like I have said multiple times it all comes down to a simple question, did the football department display a lack of institutional control? If the answer is no then this will most likely be ignored or end up with a slap on the wrist.

Honestly Fluker would be the only person to blame. He knew the rules and chose to put himself above the team. Would we forfeit the games if there is no " lack of institutional control"?

I wasn't comparing the two issues, I was just using it as an example of how you could punish players who have done this and hopefully make others think twice. Some poor reading comprehension on your part.

If guilty, I agree. If found to be the case, remove his name from all Bama rosters and mentions in games, etc. Hold the individual accountable, not the team who didn't do things wrong.

Yes , and the only thing these azz0s like Robinson really want is to keep up the drip-drop until they get their way , MONEY FOR PLAYERS.
Everyone remember the Gene Jelks situation , with Auburn fronting him money to squeal ? And the Ingram & Jones fishing trip , with an AUBURN BOOSTER ?
Question, why would an NFL agent leak documents to an expose writer of college football ? Think about it , makes zero sense , I could see him turning the info over to the NFL or even Saban , but why an expose writer for college football ?
Auburn are like slimmy turds , they are always lurking at the bottom of shyt creek.
How else could someone get texts of a conversation between 2 people unless its a setup/inside job ?
Suppose an Auburn money man made Davis his go between , then gets him to go to a few colleges ( for appearance sake ) but his whole goal ( like the fishing trip ) was to try and get Bama in trouble.
Not saying this is true , but we have seen Auburn do these type of things before.
I can't think of one reason an NFL agent would go to an expose writer , UNLESS HE HAS AN AGENDA.
Do we know who informed Robinson of this ?
We can't be naive here , this was a hit on Bama , the other colleges were only used to cover the motive.
The good thing is the NCAA has proof we will not play players ( Andre Smith , Sugar bowl 2008 ) when we find out about their dealings with an agent.
As long as we knew nothing , this will come to nothing.
BUT THERE IS A SNEAKY HAND IN THIS , IMO.

Get a dang insurance policy if you are going to be highly drafted and get an honest loan at an honest rate if you need one to hold you over.
Posted on 9/11/13 at 10:37 pm to Alahunter
I imagine that the UA compliance department will do what Auburn and ATM have done regarding similar situations and point to lawyers.
No cooperation has been the way to go for years now and I don't see our new administration breaking that.
We'll be fine.

Everyone calm down I think this will be a wake up call for the NCAA to start modernizing things and helping student atheletes possibly paying them since its an occurence with a major SEC team.. in all honesty lets get thru this saturday before we worry about this bs thats been going on for decades..
May we pray that we keep our NC's and that our staff had no knowledge of this situation.
God bless you all. And
Roll Tide.

I don't see the NC's getting revoked. Heck.. if they try, we should use the Ohio State argument. Bowl games aren't NCAA sanctioned. If they can let guilty players play one, then they have no right to vacate a Bowl game or unsanctioned title.

I ask this on the rant but I have yet to read where the policy was actually bought for Fluker. I saw where a quote was sent to Davis to show a player but never that is was purchased. There was an assumption about a deposit to Davis after that was sent that it may have been for that. But that is all I saw. Maybe I missed something.
