I'm assuming its a tailgate because I sure never heard of a bar named that

Yeah, its a tailgate put on by Mudminnow. He is a longtime poster on TD and a hell of a guy. When I went last year they boiled several hundred pounds of shrimp, had 30 keg of beer, plus a bunch of other stuff. They take donations and anything that is left over after paying for all the food and stuff goes to whatever good cause they are supporting that week.

Stop by The Chimes and have a drink Friday night. Walking distance just north of campus.

If you do stay in BR, and you have time before your flight, hit the Sunday brunch at The Chimes and have the Shrimp n grits. If you don't have time before your flight Sunday morning, go to Coffee Call on College Dr for the best beignets and cafe au lait north of Cafe du Monde

This is what I do with all my 1st time guests.
Spend Friday in Nola/French Quarter.
Wake up EARLY Saturday-drive to Baton Rouge.
Tailgate all day . Near the Indian Mounds is best.
Eat and Drink like a Louisianan.
Before the game-watch the LSU team get off the bus and walk down the hill.
Then watch the band walk down the same hill.
Then go into the stadium -45 minutes early.
The choreography of the pregame is AWESOME.
Then prepare thy anus.
After your inevitable defeat, walk to The Chimes.
If you follow this itinerary, you will have a great time.

Key is just be friendly to people and they will be the same back to you. People have way too much food and drink and despite all the bullshite you hear partying with the rivals, (even bama guys) is a proud LSU tradition.

I would ask around for fried gator people will get a kick out of that. Tell them you will return the favor by hosting them for tiger tots or something in Gainesville.

Just go with a positive attitude and you will have fun, and like any Southern sports event avoid the drunk idiots

Wear your colors and understand that the psychological makeup of a typical LSU fan requires him to be a good host. Just smile, eat and drink. The only idiots are usually LSU freshman, so stay with the adults. They will side with you over the idiots 100% of the time.

As game time approaches, I will post the "piss-bomb" laser tagger codes and we can tag your seats as a "no -barrage" zone. Our technology is improving and we are much more accurate now.

I always do the NOLA thing when I go.

Fri night in NOLA, keep the room, don't worry about checking out and return late and go back out in NOLA after the game.

Personally, for night game, I'll leave NOLA around noon or 1pm and tailgate all afternoon. It really is a lot of fun. If you wear gator gear, prepare for a TON of getting tiger baited, but it is cool. Also, I would definitely advise wandering around the LSU tailgates. The LSU fans are great hosts as far as offering really good food while having a good time with opposing fans. They seem to take pride in offering something to eat and it is usually damn good.

Enjoy. It has been my favorite away trip since my freshman year in college. I still love to party hard in NOLA, tailgate, and a night game in TS is of course the main event.

Depends on where you flying into.

Nola?
hopefully you are staying in the CBD or around the qtr. st Charles is not bad.
Hit up pascals, Mothers, or Dragos even though Dragos is much better in Metry.

Last three are live music venues
Preservation hall- lot of famous musicians made there start there

Br
Parrians
chimes
Delgelio(sp) brothers
LBC - new casino
Pastimes

Downtown has a decent going outscene . They cleaned it up a bit. Tsunami downtown has a decent rooftop scene. The office is kinda guido. roux house , city bar are not bad.
Lsu bars
bogies
freds
And if you are 18-Reggie's .

Gameday. The tailgate parties from the parade grounds to the Indian mounds are some of the best as well as the ones around Lockett hall. The hardcore I hate all SEC teams tailgate parties are around the fields of the former lsu front nine . Hope that helps . You won't get a body cavity search like the security does in Gainesville entering the stadium

If you are come to br with a friendly attitude unlike most of your fellow gator fans, you should have the best SEC road trip ever

That means you don't get to Tiger Stadium until 1 or 2pm and you take a chance on traffic being horrible! Thats too late!! It doesn't give you enough time to experience a lot of different tailgates. I would suggest you get there much earlier! Have a great time!!!

My advice is to be a hospital guest, and you'll be showered with food and booze. Anybody you hook up with will be happy to tell you where to go. LSU-Florida is always a riot in Baton Rouge. And I mean that in the best possible way.
