Will the SEC ever lift its Beer ban that it has for SEC games?

Seems like if they did it would generate more revenue for the universities. Also, would make tons of money at he SEC championship game in football and at the SEC basketball and baseball tournaments.

Other schools and conferences outside the SEC sell beer at games and have had little to no problems and concession sales have gone through the roof.

Any if you guys think we see any changes made in the near future???

There is no actual SEC rule about this. Most of the stadiums are state property and most of the states have rules/laws prohibiting alcohol on state property. Vandy has actually sent out surveys to season ticket holders asking if they would be in favor of selling beer in the past. I always checked yes but they have never released the results (For all I know it was 100% in favor and they still decided not to).

As far as tournaments and such go, I have no idea why they don't sell.

All the studies are saying fans are less drunk and more safe if you sell the beer at the game because it eliminates the need to binge drink right before you enter the stands.

I think it would be great but I normally just bring in whiskey in a flask or water bottle. If they sold beer in the stadium I probably wouldn't buy it because the lines would be ridiculous, especially in the student section.

Or I could just make pledges get it for me

I've had liquor at every SEC game I've been to

Would kind of take the fun out of it for me. Not paying 8 bucks for a beer when I can sneak SoCo in.

Careful there, Bundy.

I don't think you want OM to get hold of the ridiculous sums of money that would result from sales of alkyhaul at VHS.

I can't speak for everyone, but if they would start selling beer at games, I would be more sober at the end.

Isn't it advertising too? I could be wrong, but for example, is AB even permitted to advertise at the stadiums? I seem to recall that AB used to put out one of their beers but in whichever schools colors (black and gold stripes in the case of Mizzou) but it seems like some rule was passed and they had to stop that campaign. Could have simply been the result of pressure from some community group or I could be way off all together.
