BREAKING: Final Elite 11 QBs -- Grier, Allen, Blough, Heard, Barker, Carta-Samuels, Rubenzer, Park, Watson, Kaaya and MVP Sean White

TideSaint, I think you need to reassess your evaluation of Cornwell. He obviously wasn't ready for the big stage. Some other big time SEC QB's did their thing though.

Hoping when he visits and throws we give him an offer.

In the games I watched, Cornwell would make a few throws that were elite, but the rest of his performance was meh. Seemed to just rifle every ball, didn't show much touch.

Also, his motion looks retarded

He has a lot of upside IMO, but a big arm with meh footwork will only get you so far. It is pretty safe to say the kid is overrated right now.

That's what happens when you rank a guy a 5 star when he's played one year of football at the position where experience is most important

I agree. Cornwell looked good when he needed the strong arm. Looked bad when he didn't.

I see lots of potential, but he needs a lot of work. Hopefully getting that hardship waiver to play this year will help him.

I like Cornwell, but I was really hoping we would pull Chryst over him. Chryst's polish is at such a high level for a high school kid. Cornwell cant throw with touch because of that hideous motion. It hurts his arm strength as well, which is saying something when you consider how strong it is now. Cornwell will do well to sit under Nuss for a year and learn.

He acts/looks like he should be in the NFL draft.

Absolutely. David Shaw is going to have a really good 4 years coaching that kid.

I will say that Cornwell seems to have the same poise as Chryst. Just needs a lot of learning and refinement. He really seems to respond well to coaching. Is always trying to better than the previous throw. That is a good trait to have as a QB.

As one of my Bama brethren said in another post, Phillip Ely made the Elite 11 in 2010....we see how much of an impact he has made.

I'll still trust Saban's judgement over any competition any day.

Sean White needs to be offered by the Auburn staff right now, Brandon Harris or not. That kid can flat out play.

Star Jackson, Phillip Ely and Phillip Sims all made the Elite 11 in their respective years, too. All three of them ended up transferring out of Tuscaloosa.

Not really a good argument since it doesn't say much about our QB scouting either

This matters little. We've had Elite Eleven guys not pan out and those that didn't make this cut do wonderful. Chryst and Cornwell didn't make it. What does that tell you?
