An A&m fan in that thread yesterday the reason for the crappy teams they have now are because of the futures against Oregon and USC

Further, USC has stepped back from its once aggressive scheduling.

oops.

That 2013 arkiesaw non conference schedy looks brutal...

You just worry about trying to keep the game within 40 this year. I think that would show a nice improvement.

Those games are no longer part of A&M's plans, Hyman said, because "having switched from the Big 12 to the SEC, we've had to scrub our whole schedule - throw it almost out. Going forward, we've had conversations with people, but we really can't be contractually (obligated) until the conference says you've got the green light."

Slive said this week, moving forward, he intends for SEC schools to first receive their league game dates and then schedule non-conference contests around those.

"When we know what we've got and we know where the holes are and what we have to work with," Hyman said in regard to when scheduling can be tackled.

As for any future marquee non-conference opponents for A&M?

"We've had some general conversations with some people, and in time those conversations will spring into something more concrete," Hyman said.

Playing in Texas a lure

When the time arrives, A&M won't have any problem finding solid non-conference foes, he added.

"What is the advantage we have? A lot of people want to come to Texas and recruit Texas," Hyman said of the state's strength in high school football. "They want to get that exposure in Texas. The Big Ten, the Pac 12 … we have something they would like."

Kinda had a feeling this was coming ever since we left the Big12. Oh well, in Hyman I trust.

Keep in mind that, in the Big XII, you basically played all your non-conference games in September, then switched over to conference play with almost no-nonconference games after that, while in the SEC, conference play is interspersed with non-conference play beginning in mid-September. I'm sure that was a factor--I'd be surprised if USC or Oregon were going to come to Kyle any earlier in September than they had to, meaning that those dates probably fell into a window where there was a possible conflict with SEC play.

Dont listen to them.

UF has 2 BCS titles off weak OOC scheduiling. Its brilliant. Why teams play hard non conf games is beyojnd me.

Play 4 weak arse teams and win the SEC...you will play for the BCS. Playing Mich or Ore in Cowboy Stadium do nothing.

USC apparently never signed the contract and that info was released a week ago.

The Oregon game sucks to lose but its not a shock considering they dumped out of playing Kansas State last year too.

Hopefully the replacement games don't suck arse.

Nobody knows what the future SEC schedules will look like, but the other teams aren't cancelling games. Poor excuse by A&M imho.

Looks like Oregon is actually still on the schedule.

Now, the fact that USC pussed out we cannot help.
