Or will they be a doormat again? I really am curious as to what everyone's opinions are so far of their off season.
It kinda sucks when Auburn is down.

I honestly dont think so...4-8 is possible and maybe 5-7...but Gussy will need a year to change things.

7-5 maybe.
We need a QB more than anyone could ever imagine.

8-4 if they get a QB that fits Malzahn's style.
5-7 if they don't.

6-6 or 7-5.
Offense will be better, defense will still be awful.

A ton of moving parts to get sorted out. I haven't had a good look at their schedule, but I don't see any reason why 6-6 or 7-5 is shooting for the stars.

.500 still qualifies for doormat, right?

yes, Au will be decent next year. they will not win the west of come in better than 4th but decent they will be for sure. 6 & 6 is my first thought but could get to 8-4 with a lot of breaks.

If we have stellar QB play, yes.. So I'll say not likely.. We'll be average, a step below decent.

Just need a QB IMO. Plenty of good ball players down there.

Malzahns offense alone would have won them 3-4 games this past season. I think they win 7 games next year ...they will be 3-0 heading to Baton Rouge.....maybe a night game. Should be a good one to be quite honest

Still question marks at QB and LB. Should see some improvement, but probably not ready to be back in the SEC West race yet. I think a season a lot like what Ole Miss had this year would be a reasonable prediction. 6-6 give or take a win.

There are four games that we have next to no shot at winning next season -- @A&M, @LSU, UGA, Bama. We should be able to win our four OOC games. The four games that could go either way -- MSU, OM, @Ark, @UT. We've got to split those in order to get to 6-6.
QB is the biggest question, but it's way more than that... we'll see significant attrition over the next six months, I'd imagine. We've got to be stronger (physically & mentally), better coached, make fewer mistakes, etc... no way to know at this point.

OL, DL, and QB are all terrible.
That's a bad recipe in the SEC.

I think too much is made of QB for Auburn. Malzahn's never had a "bad" QB with his offense.
What really worries me is how much effect coaching and player development has on the team. We've got these pretty young O-linemen: will they learn how to block SEC defenders? And how much will coaching and player development help on the DL and at LB? One might ask the same at WR.
Given a relatively easy schedule, you can see Auburn at 6-6 with negative answers to some of those questions. But if coaching really takes, why not 8-4 or 9-3? I don't consider the four monsters unbeatable.

They better hope that QB can also play defense.
