Again, he was not that great of a recruiter, he was a good coach
Tubbs has taken over 3 mediocre programs and competed with the "big boys" of the conferences. He will be able to achieve more at a program capable of such and Arkansas with our facilities, financial resources, prestige, and proximity to fertile recruiting grounds could finally see the SEC with a team capable of competing with Saban on an annual basis.

Gladly. I think his record speaks for itself. I believe since 1999, Tubberville is among the conference leaders in division titles. He didn't get outright wins in some of the years, but Auburn was always in it, was rarely eliminated in September. He had a great resume at Auburn.

Tubbs is getting up there in age. Not sure how much longer he's gonna be doing this.
Edit: He's 58. I can't see him coaching past the age of about 65

He would be an above average hire.
I personally love the guy.
I know most LSU fans hate him for the cigar thing, but that showed balls. And you got to have big ones to win big in the SEC. Just look at Mark Richt.
I think he would bring back D first mentality with him to the SEC, only thing is that he needs to bring a good OC with him. Unless he gets a huge hire there, I don't see Arkansas winning the west under him.

I've always wondered why Arky hasnt had interest in Tubbs. He is an Arkansas native and he can win. I am damn sorry he ever left Auburn.
He was Broyles' pick in 97 for the job and was high on the list in 07, but we had Petrino interested and Tubbs could see what he was piecing together and made the mistake of staying at Auburn who was too impatient and short sided to see the foundation he was putting in place for the 2010 season.

I for one would like to see what he can accomplish at a program that isn't sabotaging him at every step and forcing him to hire the flavor of the month as an OC because HUNH GUYS~!~

I have to say, Arky can do MUCH worse than Tubbs. I will always love the time Tubbs was at Auburn, in fact I wasn't too happy when he had to leave.

The age thing is a negative, but in the current landscape it is hard to see any coach staying a decade or more at one school from either burning out or as he faced in Auburn a short sided impatient administration and fan base.

Yes, the forced hire of Franklin and the non surprising lack of immediate results was his down fall.
We saw this with Ford, he starts to piece together a modern pro style system that is a threat through the air, has a bad season, is shite canned then the following coach comes in and sees immediate success due to the foundation Ford put into place.

Tied for best in school history. Leads in appearances in the title game. Holds the school record in division titles. Like it or not, he's the best you've had since the title game was created.
I make no apologies for the fact that Auburn fans think the best coach they've had since the SECCG's creation sucks.

Tubbs or Butch Davis would be good hires for Arky. Both are good coaches and have ties to the state.

I like Tubs but does he have the energy left to rebuild a program? If he does...then next year is going to be the move cause he aint getting any younger. Its hard azz work to rebuild a program that has been losing and is in an area where out of state recruiting is completely necessary.
He might want UT if offered....a lot of contacts he had in Ga and SC recruiting areas would be close by...huge stadium and they would be willing to open up the checkbook.

Removing his first and last year from the equation, he averaged 2.1 sec losses a year at auburn. He was also 5-2 vs top 5 teams there
I'll take that any day.

So does Charlie Strong.
I like how the lean appears to be towards a defensive minded HC...
