Pat Dye has no clue what he's talking about anyways. He's not involved with the Auburn football program like many think. In fact, I wish he'd just go away and stop publicly making an idiot out of himself for the entertainment of rival fanbases. Stop going on Pawwwwwwwl Finebaum, you old fart. Just go to a retirement home.

Can someone in the AU Administration not just politely ask him to step the frick aside and take a backseat? He really just needs to sit back and sip bourbon on the back porch at his farm. It's dove season for crying out loud, doesn't he have better things to do right now? Plant your green fields Pat, put up the tree stands for deer season...

shite, the old fart was on sports radio here in Montgomery bright 'n early this morning on 740am blabbing the same old crap.

I think college football and the state of Alabama football is better for having Pat Dye.

Pat Dye was AD and coach and got caught lying on national television about giving extra benefits to a player. Wasn't even the best player or amongst the best that played for him. He called the kid a liar on national tv, and got busted for doing it. He was the biggest, proven cheat this state has ever known as a head coach and dishonest and willing to mark a former player nationally as a liar, to keep his secret hidden.

He's got an office there and he's been in it frequently this season. Not sure he's trying to communicate his "wisdom", but he's been in the football complex on multiple occassions this year..in HIS office.

I heard yesterday something that would concern me if I was an AU fan. Chiz used to have some issues with Troop. The staff divisions have changed some internal dynamics and Trooper (he of the player coddling coaching school)now has Chiz's ear. This staff has issues similar to 2008. It's not great.

If AU loses to Ole Miss then I truly think Chiz is gone at season's end. If they lose to Ole Miss and Vandy, they may drop him mid season ala Terry Bowden. Either way, the staff in 2013 likely won't have the current three best coaches still there (BVG, Bouleware, and Grimes). All of them can easily get employment elsewhere.

That's kinda what I was about. Jay probably won't be around to fire Gene, if I had to guess.

Good question, man. I'd love for someone to do this.

Womanizing certainly is. Their is no question Bear was a hard drinker, but if he were an alcoholic, and maybe he was, he accomplished more than any alcoholic in history.

NCAA and a lot of people in Alabama disagree....

Pat Dye talks out of his arse....I don't know why AU doesn't slap a muzzle on him....he needs to be told to STFU.....

Talk about a dumpster fire - those are the best coaches on the staff, it they choose to go elsewhere, then Chizik may as well follow right behind them.

Gary agrees with Saban.. College football HAS to fix the substitution rules they now have.

I wonder if Pat Dye is referencing that he doesn't know what is going on at the football offices because Bolt has been kicked out of nearly every meeting....

i heard that. that's pretty bad. say what you want about danielson, he does know the game well. he also said auburn's defense was "very active" against lsu.

i found it interesting that he said he doesn't think that mett has earned the respect of the (lsu) team or coaches.

I'm well aware of what Pat did at Auburn. I am also well aware of what he has done since.

I like Pat Dye at Auburn. I know where Auburn stands as long as he is there.
I was merely pointing out because Pat Dye cheated and raised the bar it made football in the state more competitive.

Without Pat Dye, Auburn can not compete. I don't understand why Auburn fans are so quick to wish him away. Unless its because deep down they want to compete honestly - but without him they know they can't so they're married to him in some embarrassingly perverted way. They want to win - but without Dye they can't.

You could also argue then, that because of that, the Corky Frost's and bitterness is a result. To my knowledge, he never apologized for labeling Ramsey a liar, when he was in fact, the one doing the lying. I just think his character is lacking and he doesn't deserve the adulation many give him.

Dye is seriously distancing himself from the Auburn coaches. "I don't know the coaches that well," "I don't have influence over Jay Jacobs," "I don't know, I'm not around the program much," "I can't speak for Auburn or what the AD or board are going to do." Rats know when to abandon a sinking ship, and Dye is as big a rat as they come.
