He pretty much took credit for the 11 and 0 season.

I have always credited him with it.

Alcoholism and womanizing are excusable as long as you're winning. Our Southern morals only come to the surface once losing commences.

True, it's a nonlinear relationship.

Pat Dye has no clue what he's talking about anyways. He's not involved with the Auburn football program like many think. In fact, I wish he'd just go away and stop publicly making an idiot out of himself for the entertainment of rival fanbases. Stop going on Pawwwwwwwl Finebaum, you old fart. Just go to a retirement home.

If Gene gets fired, it'll be Jay that does it, not him.

Yeah. Evidently, I have just as much influence on the AU program as the guy whose name is on the f'ing field.

I don't understand the hate. Pat Dye loves Auburn and is probably responsible for Auburn being what it is today - A nationally recognized power. It would probably rip his heart out if he couldnt be around the program and yet Bama fans want to laugh at him and fabricate a thousand outrageous stories about what he does and doesnt do and Auburn fans want to bury their heads and wish him into the corn field. I think college football and the state of Alabama football is better for having Pat Dye.

If Jay fires Gene, then I hope it comes too late to save his own job. The three big programs (football, basketball, and baseball) have regressed under his leadership. I still have hope for the basketball program, though.
