Which school in the SEC would you send your children?

It’s the offseason, and driving home one day I started to think – if given the opportunity, which SEC school would I want my kids to attend? Given the opportunity, I’d want my kids to attend Arkansas – but they might have better opportunities in life and better experiences if they went somewhere else. After compiling my list, I was a bit surprised how little (outside of athletics) I really knew about some of the other schools in the conference.
How does your list look? It can be based on anything you want – athletics, academics, general atmosphere, easy coeds, etc… (You are the parent). What say you SECr?
1. Vanderbilt
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. Arkansas
5. Ole Miss
6. Alabama
7. Missouri
8. South Carolina
9. LSU
10. Auburn
11. Kentucky
12. Texas A&M
13. Tennessee
14. Mississippi State
ETA: Since there aren't two states named Kentucky, I changed one of them out with South Carolina

Vanderbilt
If he was just a once in a generation athlete, probably LSU or another big name football school

1)Georgia
2)Vanderbilt
wouldn't want him to go anywhere else. If he does he's paying his own way.

Obviously, AU is a very special place and love for my kid to go there...but it really depends on his/her course of study.

Vanderbilt, Georgia, Florida ( ) and LSU would be the only schools that I would pay for him/her to attend.

No USC?

Basically anywhere but Arkansas.
I don't really want to support my kids for the entirety of my life.

Why bother? If I hated the kid that much, I'd just shoot him rather than put him through that.

Why Auburn so low?

#75 Alabama
#82 Auburn

#143 Ole Miss
Only Alabama is higher than Auburn out of those schools, and I'd say that is based on major. Alabama is a much better liberal arts college than Auburn, but Auburn has a better engineering school.

1) Vanderbilt
2) Georgia
3) A&M
UF is a great school but I'm not so sure I could stomach the thought of giving them any of my money. As for the rest, well, rather my kids go to ACC schools after those 3

1. Vandy
2. UF
3. A&M or UGA, I would rather pay for out of state tuition for A&M then UGA

I'm sure you could find at least a couple majors from each school that they are at the top of the SEC/country in. Obviously some of them aren't as viable in terms of a career choice, but it is something to consider.
Frankly, short of maybe Vandy, I really don't think you are going to see that big of a difference in terms of quality of education for many of the mainstream majors. For example, if you were majoring in engineering at, say, South Carolina and you were magically transformed over to a class at Auburn, I really don't think you would suddenly realize "Wow! Auburn's engineering program is much better!"
I got my engineering undergrad at Arky and am currently in grad school at a top 5 engineering program and I really can't tell the difference in terms of curriculum quality, research ability, faculty, or even class size.
In short, I would support my kid if they went to any school in the SEC. I feel that they are all good schools and hard work will pay off in the end no matter what diploma they are carrying.

1. Vanderbilt - obvious reasons
2. LSU - very close to home
The rest in no particular order:
MIss. St.
Florida
Texas A&M
Missouri

For just the SEC, #1 would be Vandy obviously, followed by A&M. After I'd say UGA and UF. Then I'd have to go with Rice and Texas ( ) and start looking at some better OOS schools regardless of conference that hopefully he/she would be smart enough to get into. I will say I'd probably rather my kid go to an OU, LSU or Arkansas over a Tech or Baylor.

Whichever schools they wanted to go to.

If they are intelligent and want to be successful, Texas A&M or Florida. If they can't, smaller school in Texas and transfer in to A&M. No other SEC school really impresses me academically outside of Vanderbilt, and they would have to be in love with them for me to think they wouldn't get something very comparable in A&M or Florida, but get the experiences and networking from a larger school.
After that? Or if they are stupid?
Georgia
Alabama
Auburn
Mizzou
Tennessee
South Carolina
Kentucky
LSU
I would never under any circumstances let my kid go to Arkansas/Ole Miss/State.
They would get a better education at UTD.
