that the SEC uses as a justification for the permanent opponent aspect of our conference schedules.
Would it mean that much to you guys? I've always been curious about those 4 team's fan bases in terms of how much importance they place on the AU/UGA & UAT/Tenn games each year.
Are they that meaningful?

We'll leave the SEC and form our own four team conference.

It means alot but if we have to give it up to make things equitable for ourselves and the rest of the conference than they need to do what they have to do. People will b!tch but they will get over it and when the teams do meet it will be more special than it was before.

yes it does - I look forward to AU/UGA as much as I do the Iron Bowl.

I actually do wonder what the 4 schools would do if they did away with the permanent game. I feel like in the end, Bama, Auburn, and Georgia would be more likely to accept it than Tennessee.

Wow...Really? Bama fans, would you guys say the same thing about the game against Tenn?

Absolutely

Alabama/Tennessee means a lot to a lot of people, including all of the people (BOT) that make decisions. I personally don't care that much. It's just never meant that much in my lifetime. If I had to pick between Auburn and Tennessee, it's Auburn without a doubt

Those fans that came of age in the 90s (like me) or that are from north Alabama are likely to hate Tennessee as much, if not more, than Auburn.

Hate is not a stong enough word for Alabama.

Alabama will not lose its Tennessee rivalry just like Auburn wont lose its rivalry with Georgia.

Keep in mind that a very significant portion of the Auburn fanbase hails from Georgia, myself included. The AU/UGA game is more important to me than the Iron Bowl, but I would hate to lose that either.

6 months ago I was a staunch supporter of the perma-rival games. Now, I think we either have to do a 9 game schedule (my favorite) like every other BCS conference is doing, or kill the traditions for the better of the overall conference.

if LSU had a rivalry you would know how important it is.
