Yes, the same people who support the rapist arse slamers at Pedo State. You wouldn't see either fanbase support a coach who covered up such horrible acts.

ESPN is a devout liberal organization....I hate it when they editorialize
Bingo. Horrible documentary. As usual, ESPN just reinforced the ingrained northeastern stereotypes of Southerners. When Finebaum and Harvey received more airtime than the coaches and players that built the rivalry, what does that tell you?

I thought he nailed the fan bases quite nicely.

It was watchable...but I felt like they left a lot out that would help people get a better feel of this rivalry...

Kinda what I thought as well. I thought they just scratched the surface of the rivalry and why it is what it is.
Bo had the best and really most profound statement about the tip of the iceberg (all the show really touched) and the fact it is a big arse iceberg.

it was horrible. Focuses only on the worst of the worst.
No way I'd watch that thing again. Three thumbs down.

I thought the piece was horrible and way overdone....made Harvey look like he represented Alabama....where is the hit piece on little Nick....his language and the way he treats players and coaches and the way he uses Athletic directors????
Glad I didn't watch it, because I would have seen it too and it pisses me off that people out there think anyone that lives outside of the south's shite doesn't stink.

Yeah, I said last night I was not happy with it. I really thought it was pretty shallow without enough effort put into it. The portrait it painted of the fans was pretty bad, but some of that is the ugly truth, like it or not.
I think one of the ways it could have been better would have been interviewing more fans of the well spoken intelligent variety that graduated from the Universities as opposed to the Fbaum trash. Also, I take offense to the line about the Fbaum show - either you are a listener or liar. I listen to about 2 hours of the show per year on average (like I listened to Pat Dye for 30 minutes the other day).
Honestly, I feel like interviewing someone like me that is a 3rd generation grad and really understands the rivalry (and there are plenty of us on both sides) it would have added some depth to the show. Whoever said that the rivalry often means more to the fans than the athletes was right and that was a part that was missing. And I am not talking the idiot Fbaum moron fans or Updyke either.

I forgot as well... Probably would have pissed me off.
Harvey doesn't represent Alabama, but he does represent how those who have nothing else in life can cling to sports teams to fill the gap in any fanbase. This has less to do with a great rivalry and more to do with a sociopath.
If they aired Finebaum then they did their job of pushing southerner stereotypes.

Updyke should go salt ESPN's grass after that abortion of a special.

I am an LSU fan/grad and so is my wife. We were married in Fairhope. We love the state. Just not the teams.
This espn crap was a sham. I hope Bama/Auburn sees this group of germans for who they really are now. It made the whole state look pathetic when I know for a fact it not to be. Even the football teams are pretty good!

Cam Newton is a troll
He clearly gets a kick out of making Bama fans feel hurt.

Did not like it that much. It was the Finebaum/Updyke hour. I thought I was going to learn something about the rivalry.

If anyone thinks that ESPN would have treated Mich/Ohio State or Duke/Carolina hoops rivalries the same way, I don't know what to tell you. It was just another thinly veiled "Look at the backward Southerners" jab you'd expect.
