Preconceived notion? Am I wrong or did Harvey Updyke not get so mad that he turned into a tree vigilante? That's not a preconceived notion. That's a fact. How do I know about? It was on national news. How do I know his kids names? It was on national news. No, you have to mention it.

Don't have the problem with them mentioning HArvey. But the sheer amount of screen time they gave him paints a picture that he is the norm, not the exception. It's called perspective.

Wasn't sure if you were talking about that or the Finebaum show. If you read what I said, I tend to agree with you. I wouldn't have given him that much screen time.

I would have mentioned it, played his call to the radio show and mentioned his kids name. Probably wouldn't have let that mouth breather talk to camera.

Saw it last night and I thought it was OK. The one thing that really bothered me, and I'm sure it bothered a lot of Alabama fans even more, is that it gave that piece of shite Updyke way too much airtime and has made him a celebrity and a face of the rivalry for that despicable act. Not only that, but he was allowed to seemingly speak for the Alabama fanbase. That's embarrassing both for the film-makers and for Alabama. I'm sure it bugged the shite out of Auburn fans too, but I know Bama fans hate having this guy speak for them.

Updyke should be treated like a fan who runs on the field during a live broadcast: Never show him on camera or mention his name so no one has incentive to imitate. I think he openly relishes the recognition as the one accomplishment in his worthless life.

The real problem with that show was that it was only an hour long. You can't explain that rivalry in an hour. THUS, you tend to focus on the big recent things.
