Here is an SI article on the 93 LSU-Bama game. It mentions the spread was 21, but it still seems like it was more. Having Curley Hallman should have added more anyway. Alabama hadn't lost since September of 91 (game was played in Nov 93) and had only tied Tennessee during that time (31 games).
The official closing line in vegas for the 1993 Bama/LSU game was 24.

Where are you finding these? Link? Not that I don't believe you. Just want it for future reference.

Correction also.
The closing line in vegas for AU/UF in 2001 was UF -26.5.
So that one is presently the biggest upset we have found so far...

I destroyed a vacuum cleaner and a decent console stereo when Bama fricked up that onside kick
I kept waiting on us to frick it up somehow. They kept lateraling the ball on those interceptions like they were running the freaking wishbone or something, I just knew they were going to give it right back

State upset #1 Alabama in 1980 6-3, ending the tide's 28 game win streak, which included two national championships and conference championships.

But at least Auburn had been to Atlanta the previous year and was a winning program at the time. They had talent. LSU lost a conference game at home by 55, had Curley Hallman, and very little talent.

How far back can you go AU83?

What about Miami Oh over LSU in 86?
Posted on 10/6/11 at 9:35 pm to MOT
That was actually a pick-em. LSU lost 12-21. Miami OH must have been good that year.
ETA: Yep. They won 8 games and went bowling.

Damn, that can't be right or Miami was badass. We were in the top 10 and were SEC Co-Champs.

Not SEC but just curious, what was the Stanford-USC line in 07?
Posted on 10/6/11 at 9:43 pm to MOT
Here is the line:
Saturday 09/20/86 Miami (Ohio) L 12-21 Week 1 L PK N
The PK is where the spread is and PK is normally pick-em. However since there is no total on the game, I suspect it could be there was no line set on the game at all.

A buddy of mine bet huge on that game. It was over 30, but I'll check.

What was the line for Ole Miss 2008 vs UF? I am not sure the line was anywhere near -26.5 but that was a weird one.
