the point is that there are cock fans who want to know if it's okay to boo a service academy. correct? this means that you actually think it might be okay, and you are probably too young to fully understand that they are not just your average student athlete.
when you ask a question like that, what kind of response do you expect?

Was the OPs question whether to boo Navy when they came on the field?
If so..I got his point and you should never boo the service academies....

Exactly
simple question that received simple answers. What's so confusing?

I would applaud them.

Okay, I could have rephrased it better. Our board was saying that they hoped that nobody booed them as they entered the field, but where do you draw the line? I guess I should have added the third option of not doing anything. We boo every single team that runs onto the field during our intro, because EVERY single team literally busts onto the field at the beginning of it. I see what everyone is saying, and I don't think you should boo them either and give them special treatment since they are serving our country. Some were saying that we should cheer for them as they ran out, which I don't think we should do either. For this game, and for those 60 minutes, they are our opponent. You can't cheer for the opposition, plain and simple. Thanks for everyone's input, though.

I say boo your asses off.

I wouldn't boo any of the military academies personally.

Booing a service academy would show what complete dickholes a fan base really is. Nothing wrong with applause, or hell even a golfclap.

I don't think these people realize how idiotic the officers that come from the service academies are..
ETA: I want to point out I'm just joking in the mean since.. but you guys should seriously see how bad the service academy kids are after graduating.. it's kinda sad for 5 years or so.. sometimes longer. They seriously think they are better than anyone, take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I worked with these kids for 4 years.

"My dad always says how awesome it is when we run in and [opposing fans] clap," Navy senior linebacker Clint Sovie said. "But I always say I kind of hate it. We love going into hostile environments."
The Midshipmen have felt that, too. They all remember being booed at Rutgers two years ago. But worse, they remember entering the stadium at Wake Forest last season, when Navy was 2-2 and the undefeated Demon Deacons were ranked No. 16.
"When we first came into the stadium, they were giving us a pity clap, a courtesy clap," Middleton said.
"We got the golf clap," said senior defensive end Matt Nechak. "And then we were beating them at halftime and we came back out and got booed."
Frankly, the Midshipmen loved that. They went on to their first win over a ranked team in 23 years.

they're football players. Boo them if you want. They know it's a football game, and that's what they came for. They're looking to play and have fun, not be honored or get pity claps.

When a non-service academy team runs out, do you selectively refrain from booing the ones who have served in the military? The ones who are in ROTC? How about the ones whose parents were killed in action?
Does this make it clear what I think of that politically correct nonsense? Boo their arse. They're the enemy. Cheer for them when they deploy.

Stand up an applaud. Don't cheer or whistle for them, just stand and applaud. I would do that for all service academies (including VMI and The Citadel).
