Yeah it was an embarrasing win, but I think Auburn is to be commended on one thing.

Mental toughness.

I think it has a lot to do with who is directing the ship but it probably has something to do with Coach Yox (if he's still there) too.

They just don't give up and if you think back to some of the situations they faced last year it's pretty damn impressive.

They won more "toss up" games last year than any team I can remember in recent memory. It seems like they have been behind in every game they have played the past two years except the SEC championship game.

Credit is due to Chiz and company.

With that beind said, I also must give the recommended Bammer response; "damn y'all are lucky".

I agree with that.

We can only hope that this is a kick in the arse for everyone involved about what we need to bring to a game.

Very lucky. But as the saying goes "you make your own luck"

I'd still rather win in a blowout every one in a while.

I was glad Auburn won, but I was also glad that we dont have to worry about them this year

I tip my cap to them. While they didn't play great they never quit. You make your own luck. That was the greatest onside kick I have ever seen.

I really believe this teams young players felt like they were National Champs by association. With that being said, maybe this close call is the best thing for their attitude. It's still gonna be a rough year

Not really, it's just when you have a team like USU leading a much more talented team it's just hard to hang on, they're going to eventually get some big plays just due to athletic advantage.

It is infinitely better to have a really really crappy win, than a soul-shaking, humiliating loss. Just keeping it out of the record books was worthwhile. Just not having people bring it up 10 years from now was worth it.

I agree with the OP. Impressive comeback at the end. Defense looked like trash but at least winning is something to build on for your team. A lot of freshman out there going against 17 starters. That's a tremendous difference in experience. They will undoubtedly get better, unfortunately.

Very nice compliments from a bammer fan. This team is gonna have my doctor asking me the same question he asked last year.

"Why is your blood pressure so high? It is very concerning for a guy your age."

After getting so many breaks last season, I thought Auburn had used all of them up. How many on-side kicks bounce that high in the air--maybe 1 out of 100?

I'm gonna keep bumping this post until somebody cuts the head of the beast.

Seriously though, Auburn is playing with a lot of 18 year old kids. State is probably a little overrated, but it's still a good win for Aubie.

One other thing. I've never been really high on Dyer, but he looked legit to me. He appears to have another gear this year. Dave Rowe/Neal/Baker (whoever the hell is up there now) actually made a good point that McCalleb is usually the sweep guy. Dyer peaced out on that first TD though.
