We can recruit the he'll out of Houston, but DFW recruits always come back to bite us in the arse when texas offers. Take mike Davis for example
Not sure why those DFW kids don't stick either but thats a different story.

What do all these coaches have in common? None of them have won a NC. Try again.
Is Chiz a top 5 coach? I'd say Beamer was a better coach too, without a NC.
I'd bet Patterson would kill at LSU

Hypothetical. Dude has ZERO pressure at TCU, none. You never know until he coaches at a school that is a pressure cooker.
IMO Kiffin is the best coach in CFB that hasn't won a NC.

You can disagree with me all you want, but you would be hard pressed to find ANYBODY on this board that follows recruiting more than I do.
Well, I guess there is no use to discuss any further.

A year or two back, most fans of other SEC teams were saying how idiotic, quirky and plain wierd Les Miles was. They made fun of LSU and their high hat wearin', grass eatin' coach..He talks loud, talks proud, and sometimes says some off the wall shite...
He still does all of that crazy shite, but I do think he's a good coach and he's a good guy as well. He's good for the SEC because he's fun. Several of the SEC coaches, Saban included, are wound too tight.
Train him up, 'cause we never know when we may need a replacement in Tuscaloosa.

It's all about Petrino's offensive system. When he finds a kid he thinks fits his system well, he doesn't care what their star rating is.

He eats grass, and so does my dog. So I guess he's cool..

Yes. If he ever stays anywhere long enough to prove it.

He is a great talent evaluator period... Much better at it than the 23 year old interns working for rivals or scout...plus he develops the talent after he gets it... btw..Do you really think Kiffen is better than Petrino??? wow if so

Bill Simmons podcast yesterday included several Pro-Arkansas comments.
Bill's guest was Mike Lombardi.
The first comment was when asked if there were any rookie QBs that could start right away and be effective, Lombardi mused that Ryan Mallett, were he to play for a different team, could start this year. He however will be in Tom Brady QB camp for 2 years before he might get a shot at some PT.
The next comment was related to Matt Leinart being able to become an NFL Qb. Lombardi cited the often used term that USC ran a Pro-style offense, but he disputed it, and said that no college team runs a true Pro-style offense. The closest one, and i am quoting him here:
"the closest offense in the NCAA to a pro-style is at Arkansas."

I do. I think Petrino is a great offensive mind, but Kiffin IMO is a better talent evaluator for both sides of the ball, and is a closer in recruiting. Like I said, IF he stays anywhere long enough to prove it, he will win some NC's IMO.

I just said Petrino is an offensive guru. What else do you want me to say? IMO he won't ever have a defense good enough to win a NC though. That's my opinion.

He's been the HC at UT and USC...kinkd of like LSU, these schools get talent regardless of the coach.

You have a right to your opinion but I wouldn't trade Petrino for Kiffen or any other coach.

What makes you believe Kiffin is even half the coach Peterson or Gary Patterson? Not a flame - it's just a very bizarre statement that's not supported by any facts.

His defense last year was better than Auburns...so obviously he can
