I'm glad. He did not deserve it. Neither did Myron Rolle.

EDIT: Glad is a poor choice of words. He did work hard for it, but I am pleased to hear that the Rhodes is not becoming solely an athletic award.

What the hell? It obviously meant a lot to him and he worked very hard to get as far as he did. Don't be an arse

In your opinion, who should have gotten it?

...you know, since you were in the interview and all.

The Rhodes scholarship should be reserved for the most elite minds America has to offer.

McElroy and Rolle are both smart, driven students, but they are not elite minds.

Even as a Bama fan, it got kind of annoying having to hear about him applying for it all the time.

The Rhodes Scholarship is a huge deal. Greg McElroy is a smart guy, but there are a lot of students in the country that are far more deserving, but don't have the benefit of getting CBS exposure for it every week.

You are a fig and a disgrace (along w/ many other of your fellow friends) to Alabama. I bet if GMac punched you in the face you wouldn't say that.

Working hard for it and deserving it because you are the brightest student in the SE United States is another thing. It would be just as unfair for some genius to not get it because GMac had a good GPA in an easy major at an easy University.

I agree, but it's a little harsh saying "I'm glad he didn't get it." The guy worked his arse off for it, so you know he's disappointed.

Hearing about it so much did get a little irritating, but saying you're glad he didn't get it and that he didn't deserve it is a little harsh IMO. He worked very hard for it. At least give him the credit he deserves for making it as far as he did

He can't even throw a deep ball, he doesn't deserve it. They prolly saw him take all those sacks vs South Carolina and thought to themselves...what a dumbass.

Monticello is our resident pretentious douche. He's the smarter version of Bench.

I'm glad he didn't win, but not because I'm deluded enough to think I can judge his mental acuity, but because I don't want it brought up in every CBS game from here to eternity.
