Or maybe you should be more thoughtful with your blanket statements and analysis before saying something that reflects poorly upon your intellect and maturity.

14,000 posts in one year? Couldn't you do something better with your time, like hop on a treadmill?
And I'd tell you what kind of car I drive, but you wouldn't believe me, and I'm not one to get in e-bragging contests on a message board.

I can't believe this Auburn shite has brought us a crapload of the typical and terrible Alabama posters again. I thought we'd weeded out the last batch.
Cam Sucks.

Judging by your previous posts, you're above that kind of thing, right?

I dont think its really relevant to any of that. I called it like I saw it. I have had conversations on this subject many times in the last few weeks, and most ppl agree with my analysis. The problem is what the solution should be, and the thing is, nothing. He deserves to be exactly where he is, leading the greatest football team in all of college football history. He earned it, pure and simple. I'm not saying he should have done it differently, I'm just butthurt. At least I can admit that its nothing but being butthurt. But its a viable analysis of our SOME of our offensive problems.

For all of you who are glad that Greg did not get the Rhodes, Coach Saban was very pleased about Greg being one of the 12 finalists for the Rhodes.
BTW, Greg is also a finalist for the William Campbell award (formerly called the Dradle) also known as the brain heisman and has won an $18,000.00 post graduate scholarship. So go ahead and root for him not to get that one too.

I think it's a simplistic view of this year's season, especially when you count all of the other external factors that exist. But, to each his own.
I am sure there's a certain segment of the population that would agree with you. I can be pretty snobby and an elitist about such things, so don't mind me, and I'm glad that you can find like minded people that agree with your postulations.

I don't get why people are so upset over the OP. Look at my post that details a few of the accomplishments of winners from 2008. McElroy being a finalist is almost insulting to the other candidates.

Yeah but most of us Bama fans still wanted to see him get it. I'm sure there were others that were more deserving, but I know nothing about them, and I'm not "glad" Greg didn't win. I understand what Monticello was trying to say, as far as the integrity of the award and making the right choice, I just think he could've worded things a bit better.

I totally agree... I just thought it was silly to blame Alabama's 2 losses on his Rhodes Scholar application. No one here knows how he manages his time, and the other factors at play CERTAINLY accounted for losses.

I honestly don't understand all the blame on McElroy anyway. I think he's responsible for some of our biggest wins over the last two years. It's so disappointing to see how fast people forget his phenomenal game in the SECCG last year, and how he lead the team on the final drive to beat AU in the Iron Bowl. He's kept us in every game this year.
