Corndogs coming to Oxford. Big Series for both teams....

I started the State series thread and we got throttled. If we lose this one, I won't start another series thread the rest of the year.
This could be a turning point for both programs this season. The winner of this series still has a good chance to Host. The loser may not make the post season. It's time to find our grits. If we have any.
The end of this series marks the halfway point in conference play. And this is where we stand:
We have a chance in just about every game because of our arms. All three of our starters are healthy and they have really been pitching well for the most part. We have had a couple of bullpen meltdowns, but the arms out of the pen have been decent overall.
We are something like 4th in the conference in overall pitching. Rabe lost the first game of the State series only because Bianco left him in for the 9th after something like his 4th inning of work, instead of bringing in a closer. That loss was on Bianco, plain and simple. Our season looks different right now if we go 1-2 against State instead of 0-3. Borderline unforgivable brain fart by CMB.
We pitched well against a very good Florida offense. I feel like our pitching is steadily improving, including Elliott and Towsend.
We are absolutely atrocious at the plate. I think we are hitting like 250 as a team. 13th out of 14 teams barely ahead of South Carolina.
Our entire offense is built around getting a walk or a hit batter or two, and then following up with a big home run. If that doesn't happen, we have nothing.
I still think we have a chance to go 2-1 this weekend. LSU is almost as bad as we are at the plate. And they are horrific in the field with a ton of errors. This could go either way.
Good luck. See ya in Swayze. And go to hell LSU!!!

Knowing us, we will lose in the 9th inning of Game 1 then get blown out games 2 and 3 to get swept.
Then go and beat Arkansas 2/3 next week or some shite

The only thing you have to worry about is:
1. Which Pitchers actually show up
2. How the catcher and 1st baseman play defense.

Just hit the baseball and stop striking out so much. Putting the ball in play in the college game is a huge stat. Gets guys on base and puts pressure on the defense to perform. I believe we lead the conference in Ks in conference play. Have to improve there or we'll miss out on the postseason altogether.

Will have a really good chance if they do that. Have you seen LSU fielding this year.

We will check raise you on the fielding

If LsU doesn’t walk a bunch of people, they’ll likely win
That’s our only way to win.. is let the other team meltdown and walk us and we might hit a wining home run ( Texas and Florida series)

What time do they usually let you enter GA in left field? I know people start lining up hours prior to get a spot.

I thought it was generally 2 hours before first pitch.

I’m just ready for next athletic season
worst big 3 cycle for LSU in 50 years. 2 preseason top 5 teams that have been massive letdowns.

He's our second best position player and he had the worst game of his career and we still won. I'll take that.
I have him penciled in for a 3 run bomb this afternoon.

It really was the worst game of his career I think. Both fielding and base running. But I trust him to bounce back

Did he even get on base?
I think he struck out three times? And three errors. Maybe he walked somewhere in there?
Was he the runner who didn't advance so Federico couldn't take second on an easy double? -- the announcers never really explained who F up on that one. Coach or player.
Just glad we got an awkward win.
