I never really hated Wade. It was Bill Armstrong that was the ultimate bitch. I look forward to energy being back in our games against LSU.

I did. He's scummy as frick in the same way Bruce was, but without being nearly as good of a coach. He's obviously far, far better than McMahon, who had no business coaching in the SEC, but the corndogs talk about him like he's Pitino even though he's never taken a single team past the first weekend of the tournament in his career.

LSU athletics is interesting. They paid out a solid buyout for O and a massive one for Kelly, spent a lot on Lane along with a crazy large staff and expensive portal class. They’re likely at the top of spending on baseball and I’m sure there will be increased spending on Wade

Louisiana is a state with terrible infrastructure problems, a population that is decreasing(already less people in the state than Alabama) they also have NBA and NFL teams to divide interest with.

They seem like the prime candidate for when this all finally goes tits up there will be some documentary an out how much money the university/state lost trying to keep up in this arms race.

The governor decided that he wants LSU athletics to be competitive. It's Louisiana so no doubt there is quite a lot of state and childrens' hospital money being funneled under the table to help make it happen.

Isn’t Graves funding a lot of this? I think they have another billionaire alum as well.

Yes. The real story right now in college athletics is how it has just become the latest thing for billionaires and private equity vultures to take over and destroy. Allowing these "people" to continue taking control of every aspect of our society to treat as their own personal playgrounds is fricking absurd.

The SEC blocked Saban from hiring Pruitt to a desk job, but Wade can just walk back into his LSU job where he got caught cheating. They are both SEC major league cheaters. Whats the difference?

Agree with all this.

Hes a glorified AAU coach who with talent won enough to get a fanbase who knows nothing about basketball to love him and because hes openly a dirtbag they're entertained by his antics because they like drama down there.

Ill say this: the SEC has never had better coaching than it has over the last 2-3 years

Even Texas made a run this year in the tournament.

LSU has entered what my kids used to call “Pick me, girl” status. They are so desperate for cheap relevance that they will do anything to try to get it.
