Josh Hubbard being 3rd team is horse shite. This is a 2 win team without him

Im not kidding. They'd only beat North Alabama and Alabama State. This roster is Rick Ray bad. Instead he's singlehandedly won 11 games and 5 sec games which doesnt sound like a lot until you realize how atrocious this roster is.
If its the best players on the beat teams, so be it, but if we are talking best players on any roster, he scored 42 against Georgia(still lost) and 46 against Auburn and needed all that to win.
Its basically Maravich in the LSU teams where hes so good but the roster is so bad they can't make the tournament

Really a head scratcher. I hate to say it but going to state was probably not a good choice for him. Might be the last big time player we get for a while.

Might want to check that history. LSU was good with Maravich his last year. His senior season, second in the SEC behind a really good UK team.

If he's so great, the team would've done something by now. He shoots a lot, so he scores a lot, especially if he has a rare "on" night. He stinks on defense. He's a pretty good college player, but that's about it. 3rd team seems about right.

Maybe semantics here but I would argue he’s a very good college player and averaging 22 ppg and 4 assists probably warrants a little more praise. Doesn’t really matter though. I don’t believe there’s a spot in the NBA for him

Yes, but the previous two years LSU had the best player in the country and finished below .500 in the conference. His point isn't wrong just because LSU finally put enough talent around Maravich in his final season to put together a good season.

I thought Hubbard should have been 1st team, and also Chinyelu. But I am not immersed enough into each team to know who they should replace. I also think you should have a point guard, shooting guard, wing, forward and center on your 1st team. Clearly not how they do it.

Your big guy was pretty good. Atleast he looked pretty athletic against us

A lot of it doesn't make sense. Chinyelu is DPOY but is 2nd team?
It is what it is.
It is what it is.

His point is mistaken though. He compared Hubbard being on a bad team in his last season to Maravich, who was on a very good team in his last season.
The only things that kept Maravich out of the NCAA tournament were Kentucky and the rules at the time.

From an OM guy, Hubbard seems better than 3rd team to me.

Maybe he just needed a snazzy nickname like Maravich had.
Pistol Pete
maybe Handgun Hubbard?
forget it, I'll show myself out.

Take the L on being correct?
Hubbard's last season: Miss State 13-18, 5-13 in SEC (13th place)
Maravich's last season: LSU 22-10, 13-5 in SEC (2nd place)
Funny thing from that era, LSU lost in the semifinals of the NIT tournament to Marquette (26-3), which was ranked 8th in the country at the time.
Imagine being the 8th best team in the country and not getting to play in the NCAAs.

Only one NCAA bid/ conference back in 1970. It pretty much stayed that way through the 1970s

This isn't Hubbards last season idiot this is his Junior year.
Maravich as a Junior:
LSU 13-13 7-11 7th(out of 10)
He scored 66 against Tulane and they still lost. So that roster was arse just like the majority of his time was
The roster when Hubbard was a Freshman and Sophmore wasn't as arse.

Hubbard had a great season and good luck to him in the professional ranks. Now would be a good time to learn how to speak Chinese, French or Spanish.

Efficiency is king in basketball. His eFG% is actually lower than the team average, meaning they're better off on average when someone else is shooting the ball
