No one else was coming after Steven Pearl. He wasn’t even considered a great assistant.

The fatass quit at a point to where they had to. He's always been a slimy son of a bitch.

He knew if he stepped down after the season that Auburn would’ve held a true search. No one wanted Steven Pearl outside of Bruce. It’s a damn shame too because they were coming off a Final Four and now they’ve completely lost all of that momentum. Players wanted to play for Bruce. No one wants to play for Steven and Auburn doesn’t have the money to convince kids otherwise.

Nepo hires suck. Completely unthinkable in almost every other job situation in a University... but commonplace in sports.

They put a University in an awkward situation. You get a guy like Bruce Pearl who brings your school unprecedented success... and then you gotta hire his kid to not come off looking like you don't appreciate what Bruce did.

I guess I can't blame the family members for it with the kind of coin and the job opportunity available... but it should be illegal... like it is for any other job in a University. If it simply weren't an option... then nobody would look bad.

In the end... the nepo kid gets fired... the daddy never feels the same way about the school... and the fans of the school never feel the same way about daddy.

Counter point: Bruce saw the writing on the wall with this roster and quit so that his son would take the fall. His son should be pissed.

I actually thought this as well.

Hardest schedule ever for Auburn, lost all of the key pieces from his best team. Easier for the kid to take the fall than for Bruce to go 17-14 while missing the tournament.

Counter to my coiunter point:

Bruce knew this season was going to tank, and it would be the last chance to leave the program to his son.

Bruce would have had this team in the tournament 100%. They are a far cry from our team from last year, or even the year before but they are fully capable of making the tournament and were well on pace to do so easily until Steven lost the team.

Knowing we had no true 5/rim protector on the roster, and a PG who is prone to TOs and reckless play with an unproven freshman backup was not a promising look to the season for sure.

Then it went from bad to worse when both of the guys we were counting on to play the 5 went down before conference play (one before the season even started), and our PG regresses in his TO ratio while his backup implodes on and off the court. It also appears the guys never really started playing as a "team" and frankly don't give a shite anymore.

What a friggin' disaster

Bruce is on TV, embarrassing himself, begging for Auburn to be let in tourney, with a below .500 sec schedule, and many losses in last 10 games. And shitting on Miami Of Ohio, and their undefeated record. Said they dont win out in MAC tourney, they shouldnt be let in, but Auburn should. lol

He has the P5 balls so far in his mouth, that he took the dick as well.

So Bruce Pearl schmeikeled his son, with no HC experience, to Auburn. Pearl's family got a bunch of money, Auburn got the worst coach in the league.

Couldn't be more on point for both sides.
