I mean, his seat has to be flaming hot, right? Just about every sport at Auburn has tanked under his watch.

Auburn "stole" him from State the same way TAMU "stole" Bjork from Ole Miss.

We have a bunch of idiots in our administration, so he'll probably be around for a few years. Never should have hired him in the first place.

Absolutely flabbergasted when Auburn hired him. Our entire fanbase was pumped. Cohen is a clown.

Pretty good baseball coach though

to Aggy's credit, they realized what they had done and let OSU "steal" Bjork from them.

Auburn has yet to figure it out it seems.

What about Auburn fans getting any votes or feedbacks?

So far OSU hasn't made any coaches hired. I think he was hired to budget the money.

Alex Golesh is going to turn out to be a great hire. S Pearl I don’t know. Baseball will be fine.

I remembered Auburn fans said the exact same thing about Harsin and Freeze.

I feel Bjork does well with fundraising and not much else. I think OSU was fine with that.

Why though? The baseball coach he hired did seem like a good one the first 3 years or so, and won a National Championship. Leach was a good hire.

And Cohen was also given an 4 year extension the same year Auburn hired him.

He won with a roster built by Andy Cannizaro. Once those guys were gone, Lemonis flat-lined. Like badly. They went from a team of upper classmen winning the CWS in 2021 to finishing 9-21 in the SEC the following 2 seasons

Cannizaro couldn't keep his dick in his pants, but he rebuilt that program and went to the Super in his first year and lost to LSU in Baton Rouge, LSU would ultimately go on to finish national runner-up. Then Cannizaro went to the CWS in year 2. He was fired in the middle of the 2019 season, but that team still made the CWS semi-finals. Then Lemonis was hired and took the team to the CWS in year one, then COVID happened, and State won the CWS the following year

If Golesh doesn’t pan out, he will be gone. We will know for sure in the next year or two which way things are going.

Ahhh I see. Well I guess Cohen deserves credit for the Cannizzaro hire as well?

Lemonis fell in his lap. He touted hiring a top 5 coach in the game and fumbled the bag with a couple big names then McDonnell at Louisville told him to hire his buddy Lemonis. I will give Cohen and Cannizzaro credit for building that roster. That program was tailor made to win big immediately and Lemonis couldn’t really screw it up. He did make some good moves during our natty run then the wheels fell off once he started recruiting his own players and building his culture. He was fired last year

There’s a lot of context and nuance with the Leach hire. Yes, he is a great coach and everyone loves him but that program and our talent profile were about to plummet even if he doesn’t tragically pass away. Leach was not built for this era of college football. He despised recruiting and NIL. I’m not placing all the blame of our bad football team the last few years on Leach by any means as it can be shared plenty but there is a reason we had one of the least talented rosters in power 5 the couple years after he passed. Cohen also hired Joe Moorehead who was gifted a top 3 defense in CFB and proceeded to go 8-4/7-5 with some horrific losses.

The number 1 issue Cohen had though is fundraising. He completely set us behind everyone with how he initially handled NIL. Our AD now has raised triple if not quadruple the amount of NIL funds that Cohen did and at least has us somewhat competitive in that space. That’s one of Zac Selmons strong points is connecting with the donor base and raising money. At a school like Mississippi State that is of utmost importance and Cohen was awful at that

There’s other small things Cohen did like the hump renovation that angered people. Not too mention his wife was pushing the university to embrace all the trans/LGBQ stuff and they basically told her to F off.

Sure, that was a great hire when it was made, but it obviously didn't work out as planned
