It pains me to see that we wasted this season from Josh Hubbard

The guy is on pace for 70 at halftime in a game we are trying to get to .500

Very streaky shooter. He went 9-12 from three point range in the first half and scored 35 of his 46 points. At the half MSU led 49-33.

With 1:20 left in the game Auburn led 82-80.

To MSU’s credit they pulled it out.

It was a crazy game. State led 55-37. Auburn shut down Hubbard in the second half. Auburn led 80-73 late before State finished the game on a 18-5 run. And Hubbard had a huge layup and a three pointer that gave us the lead for good. And we amazingly made our free throws at the end.

Murphy missed a wide open dunk for Auburn. Last year as a Bulldog he missed a wide open layup at the end of the game against Bama that would have tied the game.
What goes around comes around.

Really odd to me Jans and Beard are having bad seasons. Huge fans of both. Maybe just the hit or miss nature of the portal.

On paper, State’s portal players looked promising but they have all either been wildly inconsistent or just simply average to below average. Jans is an excellent coach and he will get this thing fixed. Even this year with five games left, maybe a game like tonight will kick us into a run.

Regarding Ole Miss, the talent is there but they have been snake bit and that devastating ice storm that hit Oxford definitely affected the team. Practice was changed, scheduling was affected and now the downhill slide is like a giant snowball rolling and getting bigger. Likewise Beard will have a good team next year.
