At Ole Miss and AU, he would sit another year behind a dynamic, seasoned and experienced SEC QB. Both schools have new coaching staffs and OCs, but only one is known for putting up eye popping offensive numbers. Both places will instill a new system to learn, but only one has a starting QB that is very familiar with the new HC's system. Unless the money OM was offering what significantly better, I just don't see the advantage of the transfer.

He didn't seem to like AU. We reduced his money and he was looking for any chance to leave.

Yeah that's the thing though..... He could have started at several places most notably Boston college. Instead he goes to a place that already has a starter for less money just because it's home, but STILL won't start? Didn't we offer him like 2 million? His agent must be a complete moron.

Offered him $2M according to whom? To sit the bench?

Some of you need to think a little more critically.

Mich state and BC offered him starter but basically no money. His tune changed when he saw the bottom line. I still havent seen anything that says we where letting him back in when he initially left. He was scrambling for a spot. OM gave him a lifeline.

Why would he think so?

These guys all think they're ready, one and that their window to make money - in college and pros - is very limited, two. Golesh put up big numbers at a G5 school and has an impressive impact at UT. Ole Miss just made it deep into a playoff run. Auburn has turned in five losing seasons in a row. Deuce doesn't want to sit. At Auburn, he was guaranteed to sit. We have a beastly schedule next season, not a great roster and Golesh was committed to bringing in his players. From Deuce's point of view, I'd see Ole Miss as more likely to get playing time this season. I doubt the money was dramatically different in either case, so whether he screws himself or not is entirely on him. I don't think he'd have been in a better team situation here.

That figure was definitely thrown around. Might not be a real figure but we according to "insiders" offered him a nice bundle of cash to stay.

Kiffin brought Ole Miss there and he is gone. They are in for a rude awakening.

With Chambliss coming back his playing time will be no sooner than here.

He took a pay cut to go there.

Our offense is pretty much built for his strengths.

I have no clue who their OC is but I am hard pressed to believe his will put up more points than Ghoulish

He got squirmy sitting on his hands left for a bad situation.

Probably. But we're already firmly in the crapper. Hope springs eternal.

When he made the decision, one was up in the air. The other was definite. Golesh is playing his USF offense.

Could have made the same argument for Hugh. We don't know what Golesh will do with what we have.

He was in a bad situation. Ole Miss, on paper, isn't a worse one. Personally, I doubt Ole Miss will turn in a much different record than us this season, but if I had to choose, I'd bet he sees the field more with them than he would here. We went and got another system guy. System guys use their players.

Yep, he got overpaid in year one and it's going to take another one to recover. And he'll still have not have developed any good will from any institution.

I don't feel bad for him, his manager, or his next employer.

In today's atmosphere, he can (and probably will) just transfer again next year.

Hugh's offense was built for no one's strengths. Maybe the punter

Deuce will sue to transfer since a Judge just moved him to second string.

Hate it for him.

With Kiffin's offense and LSU's new OC. Let's face it, Golding had little to do with OM's offensive success.

You don't think he's going to sit playing behind a Heisman candidate? You do realize Chambliss is back, right?

OM and AU has new coaches, but OM has a defensive guy at the helm. AU's HC is bringing in a prolific offensive system that average 500 yards per game. Both teams have good, experienced QBs. Duece is sitting regardless, but it just makes more sense to play for a guy with a track record of giving his QBs gawdy numbers. Byrum Brown and Hendon Hooker are prime examples.
