I know I am a day early, I just thought we might like to get a head start talking about it.

For those of you coming to DFW, no bad winter storms this weekend, just rain all day Saturday.

All right y'all! Time for Alabama to have a great record in out of conference play against nobodies before getting rocked in conference play!

It's tradition!

Opening Day twin bill - can't recall the last time we had one of those -

COLUMBIA – South Carolina baseball head coach Paul Mainieri announced his opening weekend rotation for the three-game series against Northern Kentucky. The Gamecocks will go with redshirt freshman Riley Goodman, junior Amp Phillips and junior Brandon Stone.

Goodman, who will get the ball in the first game on Friday, will be making his first appearance in both a collegiate game and a Gamecock uniform. He was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery last year in his first year at Carolina. He attended Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn., where he was an All-State selection in 2023. He also was the No. 15 overall player and No. 5 pitcher in the State of Tennessee in the class of 2024 by Perfect Game.

Phillips will get the start in the second game on Friday. He is a transfer from USC Upstate, where he was the Big South Newcomer of the Year, an All-Big South first team honoree and was named to the Big South All-Tournament team. He went 7-2 with a 3.64 ERA in 20 appearances and 12 starts for the Spartans. In the NCAA Regional game against Clemson, Phillips struck out nine batters in six innings. He also had a season-high 11 strikeouts in seven innings against High Point.

Stone will get the start on Saturday and will make his eighth start in a Gamecock uniform. Stone struck out 46 batters for Carolina last season. He pitched a complete game in a 3-2 win over Ole Miss on April 17, striking out four and not allowing a walk while throwing just 86 pitches. He also struck out six in 4.2 innings in relief against Clemson on Feb. 28.

if USC is gonna have any kind of a season Amp Phillips will be a big reason why - especially with McCoy out for the year last week of January - and Alex Philpott resting to avoid TJ surgery with McCoy -

If I’m subscribed to the ESPN unlimited thing, does that include ESPN+?

Thanks, BigD! This first baseball weekend schedule thread is always a very welcome sign that the best time of the year is here! I hope everyone has a good season, except when they play the Tigers!

Might as well stir things up a little.

Gamecock baseball will play its 18th season at Founders this spring - and outside of some structural repair on the side of the ballpark along the Congaree River - there's really not much that has been done to keep up with Baum Condon UK and dare say even Leslie Neilson Stadium's renovations -

the bleachers in LF that were a 'tribute' to Rosenblatt needs to be re-thought - they're not great seats compared to how close you feel everywhere else in the park - food/beer garden or platform for the students would draw more - students currently sit all the way at the end of the seats on 1B line -

Ray Tanner wanted it to be kid friendly and it is - but it's falling behind with drawing 21+ age fans - especially when the product on the diamond is far below the history and pedigree currently -

grounds crew has always been and continues to be outstanding - turf is like walking on carpet - dirt infield and baselines well kept -

Cats Sunday game will be moved to a doubleheader on Saturday due to potential weather.

Your 2026 Natty winners!!
That'll leave Aggy, Kentucky, Auburn and the Gumps as the only SEC schools without a baseball title.
