Football us basically paying for everything outside of men's basketball and people really thought a system where they find a controlled structure to pay players was dumb.. so instead of that held off for so long until pandemonium broke and now we have free transfer with unlimited payroll (thanks to B1G).

How do the golf teams generate that much revenue?

I'd love to see the expenses broken down.

Justin Thomas probably donated half of Alabama men’s golf “revenue.” I know in December he contributed $1 million to the program and the Crimson Reserve practice facility.

Baseball and women's basketball losing more than women's rowing is just about inexcusable. What is the purpose of even fielding those teams if they're going to be that much of a money drain?

And how on earth does baseball have almost twice the expenses of softball?

Well those two sports probably have a much larger overhead than rowing as well. That’s not really comparing apples to apples. Baseball tickets are very cheap and I assume women’s basketball tickets are cheap as well. Probably lower than baseball.

I'm sure all of this is true, but it doesn't change my opinion of the matter.

That extra money will come in handy for the next football coach search.

Travel expenses. Large teams that need to now travel more by air because of the expanded conference. Rowing team only has 5 events this spring.

Coaching staff salary. Softball head coach makes $500k vs. $1.3 million. Baseball coaching positions that make 2x more than their softball counterparts and there are a greater number of baseball coaches as well. Softball has 9 road series on the year and baseball has 13, so additional travel expenses come into play for baseball.

They also have the swinging elephant club that has exclusive merch for members. It's pretty cool to me and one of the things I contribute towards. No idea if that is part of this calculation (I assume so).

Gymnastics sold out Coleman a lot back in the day. It draws families, especially little girls. Why do we have rowing? .

Womens volleyball spends a ton too. Are there just a lot of girls on a team?
