Yet Spurrier understands that embracing the new wrinkles of college football is the only way to win. When asked for his thoughts on Ole Miss signing a player who was already signed and taking classes at Clemson, Spurrier started getting on Tigers coach Dabo Swinney. “I thought by now somebody would have told Dabo, ‘Dabo, there ain’t no rules anymore,’” Spurrier said. “I don’t know if they’re ever gonna enforce any rules now or not.” He continued: “You can complain, but I don’t know how (much) good it’s gonna do. There’s no rules.”

As much as I hated him in the 90s, I have learned to like the OBC. And he is usually right.

You should have great reverence for the man who annihilated UGA football for over a decade. You know the same spot we're currently in with Kirby.

Kirby doesn't run up the score on lesser opponents with his starters like Spurrier did at Florida.

That is true. Spurrier was notorious for running up the score.

Who did Spurrier run the score up with his starters? I don't recall this, but some of you Georgia guys know more about Gator football than I, so I'm not saying you are wrong, but I think you are.

Florida Hands LSU Its Worst Loss Ever, 58-3

“The first thing I told (LSU Coach Curley Hallman) was I’m sorry it got out of hand,” said Florida Coach Steve Spurrier. “It’s not a real good feeling when you beat somebody that bad.”

He yanked Wuerffel in the 3rd, so not with starters. But, what an all time quote from Spurrier.

We hate them when they are in the middle of kicking all our asses, but we love our SEC legends in retirement. Spurrier is a beauty.

The problem. No REAL men in control of the NCAA or much of anything else. Look at the NFL. How does commissioner keep his job? Girly men, Only girly men!
