After a mere 19ish years on this shite board, I'm retiring. I always said I was going to retire with Saban. I mostly did. But, with Oats making basketball, my true love, relevant again, I've lingered around a bit.
But, I'm old. College sports aren't what they were when I fell in love with them. And, the colossal waste of time that they are is increasingly evident. The basketball team getting clowned by Florida was the tipping point for me in what was previously an increasing decline toward indifference. NIL, the transfer portal, the general commercialization of everything... I'm just over it.
I'm aware I could just leave silently, but I've had some fun here at times. So, bye, frickers. If the basketball team makes a final four run, I might check in, but, otherwise I don't expect to be back anytime soon. If you need me, I'll probably be out in the outdoors doing the things I love, and can actually control.
And, for those of you that still haven't caught on, most of the people here you're arguing with are website employees driving up traffic for ad revenue.
Roll Tide.

This is true. However Chicken routinely commits payroll theft.

Teague, you’re one of the good ones my dude. I definitely understand your reasoning. I think we all get it.
I’ll miss your rational thoughts in this cesspool of idiocy.

I want to express the same appreciation for your contribution as others have to the discussion on here but this is a message board on the internet so you are an idiot for ever disagreeing with me and or having a viewpoint that makes me uncomfortable. I hope you take chili shits as long as you are away from this board.
I have narrowed it down that there are only 15 people who are non-alters or tiger dropping staff. I do like it that some of the alters are better people than their real identity.

I'm just over it.

Take a break, catch your breath and dive back in. Things are never as bad as they seem.

Bro you post all of the time

Inky, I’m afraid this time it is. The ultimate human weakness, greed, will suck college sports dry before anyone does anything about it. The best thing that could happen now is for the entire Frankenstein’s creation to collapse and flame out. Then and only then will there possibly be a phoenix to rise from the ashes to become amateur college sports with a sane governing body with teeth and kids who get paid enough to be very comfortable while in school but not getting rich. And if we can’t do that, then to hell with it all, make everything a club sport and be done with these prima donna athletes wanting to be able to retire at the ripe old age of 23. Then maybe at the club level we can get back to athletes playing for the love of the game and the love of the school on the front of the jersey. Until then, college sports are dead to me.

I feel the same. College sports will never be the same again. At least not in my lifetime.
When there is no demarcation between professional and college sports,why watch an inferior product? Tradition and school loyalty are bulwarks that keep our fandom enflamed. Today its eroding on a daily basis. Athletes don’t care for any of that, how long before the fans don’t either? Perhaps the colleges should revert to the mean? Go back to serve the purpose they were built for;
A’ La the Ivies, but who’s going to wean them off hundreds of millions of dollars they are now accustomed to?
Which brings us to the main point, it’s always about the Money!
