I can’t begin to describe how much I don’t miss the long baggy shorts so many dipshits were wearing 20 years ago

I love seeing Gen Z clowning on players that wore them

College basketball teams were much better 20 - 30 years ago when players stayed with the same program for 3-4 years.

JMO- college basketball’s hey day was in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Sort of like the golden age of hip hop

Everything was better 20+ years ago, which really sucks because I'm only just now almost 38.

I don't know, I'm pretty happy with the last 20 years or so of college basketball.

I mean it was nice to kids stay at the same university.

But plenty of people had issue with baggy pants, and ISO ball. They hated it the same way they hate the 3 ball game

I miss the ball movement and working for good shots. Basketball is such a beautiful game off the ball and I feel like all anyone wants to do is take lazy threes. I've seen clips of the NBA where they go 5 or 6 trips up and down the floor with both sides throwing up brick after brick. This is not the basketball that I grew up loving.

Yes. I'd say it started to decline in 1996.

I used to be a CBB junkie growing up. Same with college football. Your timeline is pretty close to when I stopped really watching it religiously. Maybe two or three years after. But yeah, mid to late 1990’s is when my interest in the sport started to fall off. And it’s really become a post season sport to me. The officiating or lack thereof, has sort of killed my interest in it. Also, the era of one and done really caused me to find other shite to watch.

I think the best teams from 20-30 years ago would beat the shite out of most teams today. I can’t think of a team this year that could compete with our early 90s teams, UNLV, LSU, etc. maybe I’m wearing the same glasses.

Nah it's pretty easy to tell just by watching game footage from back then. The ball movement, defensive rotations, and overall team cohesion is night and day.

Nolan's squads would wipe the floor with modern teams.

It's funny seeing this & remembering how those OG Warriors teams were praised for ball movement & assists. Steph was renowned for his off ball movement as much as his logo 3s.

It seems like the game has jumped the shark at this point

Didn’t want to outright say it but guys like Todd Day, Lee Mayberry, Oliver Miller, Corliss Williamson, Scottie Thurman, Corey Beck, Al Dillard, etc. would manhandle most teams.

ETA - Shaq(of course)

Also bring back hand-checking. The guard game is so damn soft now.

Basketball in general has been getting worse every 5-10 years. College is just 5 years behind.
