But if you think about it. The players aren't getting a single cent of "the pie". The big pie is ticket sales, TV rights, bowl rights, merchandise sales, etc. $Billions.

They get none of that pie. None of those billions. That is the pie.

No. The players get money from just donations. That money is just extra money thrown into the equation.

They never got a piece of the pie. Schools still get all that.

This system is so screwed up, I'm wondering how much longer this is going to go on. There's already talk about big donors beginning to drop out since they aren't seeing a return on their money. They pay millions and the players portal out after one year. That big money is going to dry up eventually. What happens then?

Do players get a % of jersey sales?

So players are paid with NIL and revenue sharing or it that considered within the same payment package to athletes?

The pie goes to women sports and men's Olympic sports. That is where the money really goes. And to coaches.

It wouldn't break my heart if college athletes became "poor" again.

The schools might've made millions but athletes treated rivalries as they should. They didn't go dap and handshake the opponent like they are in the NFL.

If the players had their choice, they’d sell everything to private equity, split the money, never play again and laugh their way to the bank while CFB ceased to exist

Agree. Too much greed but it would happen if schools would all say we are not participating. Tryouts next August. First game 3 weeks later. We go back to regional games and conferences. If you don’t want to participate by our rules…don’t play. You must meet grade requirements to play. I would be all in and cheer for my team. Go to games and tailgate just as I do now. I don’t need playoffs or tv. I just want to beat my regional rivals every week. I will listen to away games on radio.

Yes. My son received a small (think it was 1.5%) of jersey sales for his TEAM, and 2.5% if it was HIS jersey. This was 2024.

What are you talking about? Currently the NCAA allows schools to pay up to $20MM per year to their athletes out of that pie (not NIL).

I’m tired of subsidizing women’s sports. Even our girls basketball is in the red. They shouldn’t get any rev share until they break even
