Name another team that has come out of nowhere like Indiana.

Maybe Miami after hiring Schnellenberger? But even they took four years to really hit.
I don’t know.. We are witnessing history and this run by Indiana is going to stir up a lot of shite at a lot of very big Athletic Departments.

Reminds me of Auburn with Cam Newton and Nick Fairley. They rolled over most teams but then Auburn struggled after that season.
It's hard to say that this is the beginning of a dynasty at IU, or if they just happen to have the right team at the right time.

I’m a big believer in success breeding success.

They’re a team full of 25 year olds with a 1st round pick at QB I’d be shocked if they maintain success

It isn’t the same but reminds me of OU in 2000.

It's an impressive team for damn sure. Need to figure out how he did that.

Yep. I was looking at that today. After graduation & NFL attrition, 2026 will probably look a lot different.

You are talking about programs defined by a coach?
Bama when it hired Saban.

Beating the OSU was not a fluke. Love to see the Gumps lose.

Most of Indiana is in the middle of nowhere, so it’s expected.

I’d say Miami 1983-1992 as well as as Clemson 2015-2020 were elite runs that seemingly popped up out of nowhere.
Will be interesting to see if Indiana can sustain this for fall off after just a year or two.
BYU 1984
Georgia Tech 1990
Those were national titles that made no sense then nor even a year or two later.

When you have a veteran team with some special players on it, you can do some great things. The question is whether or not that success can be sustained long-term.

I think it’s a lack of big time recruits with less egos. The players bought into the system and committed to hard work and getting better.
