Not to beat a dead horse, which I surely am, but Indiana INSTANTLY going from "worst program in college football history" to "juggernaut that puts every team they play six feet under" is one of, if not the most, unbelievable happening I've ever seen in college sports. Just incredible stuff, even in the NIL era.

Cignetti must have sold his soul to the devil.

The transfer portal did that!

There will be a feature film if they win it all.

Its crazy to see, was NIL the turning point where Yankees became dominate in football?

It’s beyond comprehension..

I remember Stoops taking over a 6-6 Oklahoma team and winning the national championship the next year.. everyone thinking oh we just need the right coach we can do the same thing SMH

I honestly don't think they cleaned up that much in NIL. Is cignetti that damn good? I bet half the sec didnt offer these starters

I wonder what his percentage of returning starters IU had from last year's team

But it really isn’t NIL related at all.. I think they have 7 four stars on the whole roster.. 0 five stars..
What they apparently do have is someone or some people who have an incredible eye for underrated talent that will fit like a glove.
Clearly they also have some really good coaches, starting at the top.
Perhaps it is all Cignetti.. either way it’s impressive and it will be studied.

And I still keep doubting them. Cignetti is the best coach in college football. Regardless of what happens the rest of the playoff, the coaching job he’s done this year and the turnaround that Indiana has had is the best I’ve ever seen.

I think we’ve seen this before in the late 90s to early 2000s with Kansas State. They were basement-dwellers for decades. Per Wikipedia
and then Bill Snyder comes around and they immediately have success and then maintain a high level of play for nearly two decades.

It's what a good coach will do for a program. IU will be smart to keep this staff together and well compensated.
Go Hoosiers!

Negative. He never agreed to take the head coaching job at Alabama

Year prior to Bob: 5-6
First year Bob: 7-5
Second year Bob: 13-0 Natty

The only real parallel is Bill Snyder at Kstate. That took much longer because of NIL and even at their peak they weren't able to pass the ball.
The closest they had to anything like this was in 1998 and they got snuffed out in the first big 12 title game by A&M.
Believe that was the Aggies last conference title.
