IF TRUE, the biggest news coming out of Auburn

Rumors are that a player, K. Lee, demanded 40k to suit up and play against A&M. Again, IF true, this is a rapid escalation of the demise of CFB. The players already make the schools dance to their tune to sign, transfer or portal. When these one year “contracts” become one game contracts, the sport is doomed. Imagine game planning while being held hostage by a 19 year old.
It’s easy for fans to say, kick him off the team! It’s not so easy for a coach who has an 8 million dollar salary to protect or an AD whose budget depends on wins and losses.
CFB needs a players union and real, enforceable contracts to protect players from themselves.

I know it's easy for AU people to say "CFB is lost" given our current state.

But it is pretty depressing. Recruiting your own roster every year. Seeing guys who probably really do like the school they're at opt to test free agency just because they can and they have completely unregulated agents with a vested interest in them doing so. It just sucks.

Bunch of bama fans are bragging that bama will pay cam Coleman whatever he wants to go there. Is it the downfall of CFB only when other schools are over paying?

You missed my point. The NIL system is broken. However, this incident proves that it can and will get worse. There is no end to human greed.

They need iron clad 2 year NIL deals so players can't transfer èvery year.

Player contracts similar to the NFL. I don’t know as that’s doable until there’s some sort of profit share and all players are getting paid.

Where did everyone think this was going?

Hey junior, welcome to college, here is $20,000 to put in your bank account. Now don't do anything bad with this money, OK? We will put another $20k in your account every month.

What could possibly go wrong?

You sure about that?

We’ve got about 30 dudes who think they’re entitled to exorbitant amounts of money despite losing 7 games every year of their college careers. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened a lot more often with these chumps.

I have no opinion on the validity per se, but it's been making the rounds on Auburn twitter — note the second image is supposed verification of those allegations by their beat writer.

30 chumps? That’s a lot.

All kidding aside, watched a few Auburn games and the only chump I saw was on the sideline. Defense played their arses off.

Pretty sure Quinshon Judkins did this to OlMiss 2 years ago.
Rebels, to their credit, told him to pound sand.
Worked out well for both parties, imho.
